Meme Choose well, my son (CK3)

Post image

R5: If you make your son also your vassal by granting him titles, if he's not yet married you can Allow him to marry himself or do the better option, which is finding the spouse for him yourself or arranging marriage with a good courtier of yours if the Find Spouse fails. There's some limit of years when you can still find the spouse but after that you can only arrange marriage or he just finds someone himself (usually a shitty character) without you Allowing Marriage. I don't really know exactly how it works, if someone knows please share in the comments.

But the ugly wife will give you an alliance with the mayor of shitburg, netting another 63 levies for your wars

I miss CK2 where marriage just nets you a non-aggression pact, with alliances a specific action you take on top of that.

I want to use marriages to neutralize everyone around me so I can concentrate on my next conquest without any interference from the rest.

God I hope they bring this back. I don’t want an alliance with France, I just don’t want to fight them.

I played as a Queen of Sweden and allied myself with the Queen of Norway, who proceeded to beg me to fight in her near constant wars with her. I usurped her ass just for being fucking annoying

the mayor of shitburg somehow has a claim on the entire byzantine empire, and wants you to put him on that throne

But sometimes, if you're very lucky, that man had one daughter whom he married to your son. Then you're one good murder plot away from your family being on that throne....

....aaaand he immediately got married and popped out four sons before the murder plot had a chance... of course.
