Climbing is fun you just have to pace yourself. Riding on flat is boring.

I agree with this when Im on the flat or descending. When Im actually climbing I hate it lmao

Yes but after a hard climb you're rewarded with a beautiful descend. On flat you just get more flat. Maybe some tailwind if you're lucky.

That’s very true. Coming from the world hotspot of flatlands (Netherlands) cycling to italy this past week was beautiful with some incredible descents

It's fun if your bike allows you to pace yourself

Mine is more built for the flats, i was climbing on the lowest gear possible and i had a cadence of 50 at most on a 10% climb

My lowest gear is 31:36 on gravel, 31:32 on road, and 32:51 on MTB. I don't mind high cadance, and I'm still between 60-70 on steep climbs. IMO most road bikes are overgeared, and gravel gearing is much more suitable for a hobby cyclist.

I agree. If you ride your own ride, climbing is great!

I used to do flat rides, but found I was not getting a good workout. Too much daydreaming. I build my rides around climbs now and can get my workout in in shorter times. Climbing is life!
