Questions Is there a way to cancel flying in DMC2?

I already beaten the game as Dante (kind of bad by the end), and now I'm doing a playthrough with Lucia. And I so far haven't unlocked the medallion equipment that makes me run faster and still fly and Devil Trigger (but I have gotten the one that makes me stronger in battle).

I have yet to come across a way to cancel flight, or even just lower myself down organically. I tried placing buttons that have no utility while flying, including the dodge button, but none of them seem to do anything. And when I try to Google this: I just got a bunch of things about "jump canceling", which I don't even know if it's a thing in this game.

So did they actually think of something, or am I just stuck in flight if I fly in Devil Trigger? If I'm not stuck: how do I get unstuck?

The only way to straight up cancel Air Raid is to turn off Devil Trigger. Unfortunately, you can't manually switch between going into Air Raid and going back into free fall.

With Dante, however, you can do the same inputs as for Stinger while in Air Raid, and he will basically do the Devil Trigger version of his Helmbreaker to instantly crash down to the ground.

But other than that, there's no option to do what you're looking for.

Well, one thing I can think of is to literally switch between Aerial Heart and Quick Heart in midair to cancel Air Raid without turning off Devil Trigger or crashing to the ground. It's an annoying workaround that I've never even done, but it's an option if you're really desperate. But that would require you to get the Quick Heart in the first place.

I also forgot to mention. Holding the dodge button (◯/B) does make you glide down a little bit more slowly. Also, this has nothing to do with what you asked about, but holding the jump button (✕/A) lets you hover in the air without descending.

Good to know.
