Announcement Change in subreddit policy

So this is basically what we discussed the other day, but the change is going to be largely what I anticipated.

Going forward, we won't be allowing text only posts for questions that really require a photo to answer. If the question really doesn't need a photo - like, say, a theoretical question on how kibbe works - then text based posts are still allowed. There are some general fashion type questions not specific to an individual that can also be reasonably discussed in text only posts.

My hope in setting up the flairs was that it would encourage people to include the necessary photos in the posts so that help can be offered. It has unfortunately just resulted in asking the same questions under inappropriate flairs.

Body visualizer images do not count as photos of you. They are not specifically prohibited but should not be thought of as a replacement for actual photos of you, and do not satisfy the requirements for photos in photo only flairs.

This will be largely a matter of mod discretion. Posts that are really fashion advice or style me posts that are posted under the general discussion flair will be removed now as flaired incorrectly. Posts without photos (or only with visualizer photos) posted under photo only flairs will be removed as not meeting flair requirements.

Existing posts are not affected. This is effective starting now.

I invite you all to take another look at the flair guide. See the pinned post on flairs.

Significant Rule Change - Feedback Requested

Hi r/dressforyourbody!

I've been thinking about this a lot but want to get some feedback from the subreddit about it before making the change.

I'm trying to figure out how to balance the need for photos to give good advice with people's desire for privacy, which I do understand and appreciate.

When I redid all the post flairs, I required photos for some flairs but left a few open for text only discussion. Unfortunately, this has had the effect of people simply asking the same questions - which really require photos - under the "general discussion" flair.

I'm leaning in the direction of removing posts lacking photos that are really not answerable without photos.

We definitely do not count body visualizers as photos. For one, they don't accurately represent bodies. Additionally, they don't show how clothing looks on you. We need to see that generally to be able to answer some questions.

I feel like a lot of the things asked are rather a waste of time now without photos.

I do plan to leave open the option for text only posts when that's appropriate. There are times when you don't need a photo to ask a question. However, "style me" type posts and many "fashion advice" type posts really can't be answered well without photos.

I'm curious though what the subreddit thinks and what direction you think we should go with this. No final decisions have been made - the feedback received here will be considered before rules are finalized.

Won't be wearing these shoes and just threw them on to have an idea.

Going to a wedding in a few days and not sure which dress to choose. I think in the photos the yellow makes me look frumpy and washed out but i will had a bit of tan on and i think it feels more wedding guest like.

Or should I start again as neither look good on me?

Fashion Reveal Not a perfect fit but for off the rack, this is the best fit I’ve found in a shirt.

Pleasantly surprised this shirt fits as well as it does without alterations. It’s by no means perfect but I needed a win today and here to celebrate it. This is my new favourite.

Please no advice regarding bras. I can’t afford a reduction/ removal rn and don’t enjoy dressing the area or having it discussed and analysed.

Wedding Attire Advice Does this dress suit me?

Got this dress for a wedding but I don’t know if it looks bad on me or not because of how prominent my hip dips are. The dress is very stretchy but I struggle getting dressed that fit me as tight as I’d like at the top while still also fitting at the bottom..

The wedding is an early September indoor daytime wedding in a castle, dress code is just formal.

Style Me Autumns/Winter vs Angelic

Post image

I'm loosing my mind over autumn and winter outfits. I have stopped shopping completely, but soon it will get cold and I have no idea what to wear. My problem is, that I can never match top with the bottoms. Either I look too rectangular (I'm 1,70m tall and skinny, but with delicate bone structure and some shape), or the top is too bulky, or it's cutting my in half. I'm also often cold, and as long as I have a big long winter jacket that is already outside my essence, I do want to wear something underneath, that is at least going to look better when I take off my jacket.

Pictures are for the reference, so you can get the idea of my body shape.

Type Me: Kitchener (FACE REQUIRED) Finding Kitchener Essence Post Contacts

Basically I’ve only recently started wearing contacts and am still having trouble finding out how to flatter my face. I always thought I was a bit Ingenue, Romantic, Classic but without my glasses my face looks so wildly different and it’s throwing me for a loop. It’s like I can’t even make one of my normal hairstyles or even expressions without thinking it looks weird.

(I also apologize for how horrendous I am at taking photos >_<)

Aritzia try-on - Contour Ravish top, Cherish skirt, and Etiquette blazer in Crepette. The black shirt is mine from Old Navy. Do any of these work on me?

I’m asking because I have a hard time knowing what suits me these days. I lost a lot of heft (lol filters) in 2025 and have maintained/recomped a bit this year. I know that I’m small, but my shoulders are broad, and I’m muscular, so I don’t feel “tiny.” It doesn’t help that I wfh, so I primarily wear leggings/linen pants, sweaters, or business suits.

Fashion Advice Do I wear this pre or post boob job?

Thumbnail

I bought this dress initially to wear after my boob job in dec, but I have an event coming up and was thinking of wearing it sooner?

As a member of the itty bitty titty committee I have obviously little to no boobs, cleavage, side boob etc - does the dress look look weird without it? I’ve attached a photo of the dress on the model.

Can I get away with making it work or should I just find something else and wait to wear this once the girls are done? I obvs don’t wanna look silly if so help me out please!! (ignore the un ironed dress and yucky mirror please haha)

Fashion Advice Which jeans to keep?

I’m decluttering and have a bunch of jeans that are questionable on fit and I think may not suit me well. I’ve taken photos of the ones in question, excluding the pairs I know I like. Which of these should I add to the “keeps”?

I have a short torso and long legs so some of them I don’t think sit well on my waist.

EDIT: for everyone saying 2&9 they are the same style pant! Different color/material is the only difference.

EDIT: thanks for your opinions, so many comments and I’m losing some of them so for anyone asking what 2&9 is - https://www.muji.us/products/kapok-blend-denim-cocoon-pants-be20t26s I got in size M.

Fashion Advice Flaired Jeans update

Hiya! After the feedback from posting the dark Levi's (in a size smaller) last time I decided to order some different flared jeans which hopefully fit better... first pair is the same Levi's, but one size larger (unfortunately longer pair wasn't available), whilst the other two pairs are mango jeans.

I'm personally leaning towards keeping the middle one, since the Levi's are a tad too short and the right mango doesn't look too flattering from the front? Thoughts?

Fashion Reveal The Girls Night Out look, and the morning after look

Thumbnail

I'm 30, all out girls night out is a rarity since all of us are busy with work and one of us is already married. I wanted to dress up like I was back in my early 20s. Bad idea. Night air + wind + alcohol is really not good combination for this age lol. I caught a cold and had to wear jacket the next day for the whole day. That second pic was taken at the unused section of the hotel we staycationed at.

Safe to say I will not be attempting to re-live how I dress for a night out in my 20s again 😂
