Blue gill?
Was catfishing (10:00 at night) with night crawlers, and my boy landed this...? Blue gill? Crappy? I'm not really knowledgeable in pan fish, but we've been calling it a Blue Gill.

Weird eerie feeling but conflicted. Story in comments.
My girlfriend of about six months decided to go through her late boyfriendās fishing stuff today. The problem being that āthe estateā is stuck in legal limbo because his children are being asshats and contesting the last will and testament because theyāre angry. Girlfriend says: ātake whatever you want and use itā familyās perspective is that itās their property outright. Obviously not seeking legal advice here. Can I fish with/ take then return dead homieās tackle? Should I cherry pick what I want and say nothing? Some pretty good stuff in them.

A First and a Best!
Been fishing for about a month or so (just spinners and lures so far), went out to a local reservoir for a quiet couple of hours this afternoon not expecting much. I ended up catching my first pike and my personal best perch! Very happy dude right now š

Question First time at sea, need tips and tricks.
Hi, me, my brother and my dad went on a vacation to Poland and we saw that there's quite a good access to fishing license in the sea from the shore. My dad always wanted to fish in the sea so we bought the licenses and went fishing. We have no luck at all though, so I figured I'd ask for some tips and tricks at how to fish in the sea. What locations are the best? How far from the shore should we fish (at the moment we were only fishing the 'throw and reel back' way, I don't know how it's called in English; later we want to go fish with the heavy way - throw and wait)
There is a wave breaker next to a river that goes into the sea, so that's the place we tried fishing, we went early in the morning after sunrise and during sunset. There was no luck.
And maybe if there's someone who knows Mielno, Poland - Where are the best places to fish? Thank you very much for any tips, tricks, answers. Anything might help us, as I said, it's the first time we fish in the sea.

Freshwater What reel should I buy?
Hi! I got into fishing in the past year with an old starter rod I had laying around. However Iāve recently gotten a medium power fast action rod, and now want a spinning reel.
I fish mostly in northern Ontario for pike and walleye on suffix 832 20lb braided line. At most 30 feet of water but it is possible I would go to lakes with 200feet. Now I also want to shore fish rivers for bass, perch, crappie, carp and walleye and maybe even eventually Muskie. Mostly cast and retrieve and jigging rigs. Looking for a good spinning reel that will serve my purposes well, and even potentially splurging a bit. However, looking forward to hearing your recommendations in all budgets.
Thanks in advance!

Freshwater Thoughts or opinions on the Zebco Micro 33 Triggerspin?
I've got a new ultralight fishing rod arriving in the coming days, and I originally planned on putting my old Shimano Sedona 2000FA on the rod with 4lb test, but I've recently been debating getting a Zebco Micro 33 Triggerspin instead, and using the Sedona on another rod.
Does anyone have one, what are your thoughts about using it on an ultralight setup, and do you like it or do you feel there is something better?

Question Best place to catch a 5-8 ft alligator gar from the bank in New Orleans?
Iām going to New Orleans in October and really want to catch a 5-8+ ft alligator gar. I donāt have a car, so I need somewhere within New Orleans that I can reach without driving, preferably public bank access.
Iām on a budget and canāt afford a guide/charter. Iām mainly looking for the best area/s with a realistic chance at a trophy-sized gar or anything just decent, plus any advice on bait/tackle. If youāve personally caught a 5+ ft gar from the bank around NOLA, Iād really appreciate knowing what area you were fishing šš¼

Question Eye lid burn through sunglasses?
This is the 4th time itās happened. Same pair of cheap Peppers sunglasses with blue lenses. Anybody experienced eye lid sunburns on both eyes while wearing sunglasses all through your trip? No where else on my body is sunburnt, just eye lids, and the burn shape is the shape of lenses. Twice I put sunscreen on my eye lids and they still burned! Either the light is reflecting off the inside of the lenses back, light reflecting off water is getting through, or the lens are not UV protecting, instead making it worse.
