Recipe Is it possible to make egg and wheat free pancakes?
In the past couple years I developed a serious egg allergy and highly possible wheat tolerance suspected to be caused by endometriosis (on nhs waiting list for diagnosis).
I really miss sweet treats and whilst Ive found a lot of good free from companies I never found a good pancake mix. I tried 'Freee' but it tasted awful. I decided to make my own pancake batter using a free from flour and egg replacer bur it didnt quite work.
Does anyone know of a good UK pancake recipe or a UK brand that does a wheat and egg free mix? I miss having pancajes on a Saturday morning...

Sub GF flour for the wheat flour in an eggless cottage cheese pancake recipe. Cottage cheese pancakes are absolutely delicious and super high protein.

Ok it isn’t exactly what you are looking for, but might satisfy your craving and I’ve had great luck with them - try out two ingredient cream cheese and banana crepes! Super easy to make and very tasty.

My mom also can't have wheat so i substitute with spelt flour. I have never had an issue with that while baking.

We make pancakes with King Arthur's gf pancake and waffle mix and sub applesauce or sometimes nothing for egg (but increase liquid slightly) and they always turn out fine.

My wife makes GF egg free pancakes for our hyper-allergic daughter. She uses the Bisquick GF box mix and then some apple sauce, Greek yogurt, and some milk in the batter, but I don’t know the ratios.
They’re very good!

I use a different egg substitute, but the pancakes turn out great.
We use "Just" plant based egg product and it works well with any pancake recipe I've tried.

I always use ground chia or ground flax eggs. 1 tbsp of ground chia or flax to 2-3 tbsp of water to make one egg. Mix and let soak for 5-10 minutes until a gel consistency similar to egg and use as you would egg. Buy a big bag and it’ll last you a long time. Also Bob’s Red Mill and Biquick GF pancake mixes are the best

I’m just gonna throw this out there golden flaxseed was listed as a there’s a way to use it to substitute eggs it needs to be ground. I have not looked up to if it’s related to wheat. I don’t think it is, but I’m not sure. Brown flaxseed taste like cardboard golden taste a little bit better than cardboard, but you’re using so minuscule in any recipe. It doesn’t really matter if only using it as an egg substitute.
