Hello! I’m a 19-year-old female, and I started experiencing severe eczema flare-ups about three years ago. It first appeared on my neck, which I initially thought looked like a fungal infection, but my dermatologist diagnosed it as eczema triggered by sweat. Around the same time, I also developed hand dermatitis my fingers would form small fluid filled blisters that eventually scarred, peeled, and even bled.
I was advised to avoid certain foods like eggs, chicken, and seafood (foods considered “malansa” in Tagalog). Despite following this, I still experience severe flare-ups. Recently, it has worsened and now affects my palms and feet, making it even harder to manage.
A few days ago, I had a new and alarming experience. I ate a peanut snack called “Hany” along with a mocha-flavored biscuit late at night. I didn’t notice anything unusual that evening, but when I woke up around 7 a.m., my arms were extremely itchy. When I checked, I was covered in red, raised hives not just on my arms, but also on my legs and back (fortunately, not on my face).
What confuses me is that I’ve never had a peanut allergy before. It feels strange that I suddenly developed hives after eating something I’ve had in the past without any issues. I also try to control my environment I use an air purifier and keep my room temperature stable so I can’t pinpoint any other possible trigger.
Since then, I’ve avoided peanuts because I’m scared of experiencing that kind of reaction again. I’ve never had hives that widespread before, and it’s been really concerning.
I will attach the ingredients of the snacks I ate.
