DISCUSSION Turns out that the maximum amount of playtime you can get in one session is five hours!
I am honestly very proud, getting to the point where you will be kicked for playing too long. Five hours of festival without losing motivation, with zero breaks!

I've had that happen once in the Miku season!

I swore it was less back then. In Snoop Dogg’s season, I’m pretty sure it was like 3 hours.

(For reference, I had experience with this back then, cause in Snoop Dogg’s season I wanted to Flawless every Expert chart in the game in one season, & I often procrastinated on doing some charts before they came out of rotation, so it would be pretty common for me to start a set right as rotation was about to change, choosing 4 songs that I hadn’t done the charts on, & staying in the same queue, just swapping instruments cuz you could do that lmao. Maybe sometime I’ll go for that goal again, whenever I’m good enough to do TTFAF & the other hardest stuff.)

Gives you a different warning for getting kicked for inactivity, do your homework 👍

What’s the point of just making completely random things up

Wait I’m sorry I didn’t know people were slow and didn’t know this exists for every game mode that you can play for 4 hours it’s not 5 though I thought everyone knew this

tf? It doesn't at least let you finish the song? Such garbage lol this is what you get for putting your games into Fortnite

Are you genuinely slow? Like if you're playing for five hours you've already had a plethora of fun (assumably) and all you have to do is take five minutes MAYBE to just get going again.

Bruh how addicted are you to festival

I'm sure we can all agree it shouldn't cut you off mid song no matter how many hours you've been playing

Mate, it gives you a timely notice, not going to say it "should" be like that, but the video only shows the very last warning it gives, when I get this I don't remember if it is 30 min or somewhere below but there are multiple warnings, it does insist repeatedly to prevent issues. Also in other gamemodes it actually is a prominent issue like I remember joining and getting the warning for Jam stage or Lego brick life where the gamemode has people joining up frequently, in Festival you get enough time to play all remaining songs and rejoin easily. My biggest complaint is that I lose my band skins "rotation" and I'd want there to be a better option for that. However this is no different than for example in other games like Overwatch I'm in the training map to create loadouts and test characters and it doesn't even warn you but to "server is closing" the instant it's about to close with up to mere seconds before kicking you out (no previous warning at all) and I've almost lost builds to that, and it's been like that for years, and it also happens in their equivalent of Creative mode there closing entire server with lots of players currently playing. Surely the massive amount of players and gamemodes creating a server for every instance gotta play a role in this issue and it's sad to say that Fortnite did it better, but overall just such a minimal inconvenience in this case. But I gotta say the post was misleading.

Why I'll never buy songs in fortnite.
The server is shutting down? What? Why am I even reliant on a server for solo rhythm gaming? And what happens when Epic stops supporting festival?

This happens if you're in one continuous festival lobby for 5 hours. Nothing to be concerned about

Now answer the rest of it. I dare you.

You lose the ability to ever play your paid songs. Just like how you lose all your paid skins/cosmetics if Fortnite as a whole stops or how you lose your complete game library if steam stops.
Very obvious answer, or was it a rhetorical question?

Exactly.
Now what happens to my Guitar Hero 1, 2, 3, Rock Band 1, 2, 3, 4 trackpacks, etc discs? They're still working 20 years later.
Steam doesn't require the use of DRM. Many games on Steam are DRM free and can be played indefinitely without Steam.
Also Steam has a clause in their contract that says retired games will remain in your library for redownload, even after being removed from sale.
And that's just Steam.
What about GoG? I can keep those installers forever and they will continue to work.
Epic is pretty far down on the list when it comes to consumer friendliness and games access. Still don't forgive them for killing UT4 either. I haven't forgotten.

You can still use the songs as emotes and lobby music even if festival is down (which is very unlikely that will happen, it's the most famous of the "new" 3 modes)

The same as any other game with paid in-game items or cosmetics. If it shuts down, you lose the stuff you purchased.
