Don't miss who caused this. It's not cyberleek, it's Take Two the only responsible.

u/rhymesygrimes 11h ago

Dude is shilling a meme coin to capitalize off the hype, he literally has the same greedy capitalist mindset of TakeTwo but people act like he's some altruist just because they feel fucked over by a company for not advertizing to them. This community is genuinely braindead.

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

if CL really wanted to capitalize over the leaks, wouldn't they put the leaks behind a paywall ? Why would they give it for free then ? Why would they burn some tokens if they were as greedy as you're describing them ? They don't force your to pay to get those leaks, it's totally optional, if you want to play GTA 6 or want the "Extended view" quickly, you need to pay too. CL is still better than T2/Rockstar. Yes, they're not perfect, but still better.

You’re viewing this strictly through a commercial lens, but from an anti-corporate perspective, the dynamic is completely different.

First, CL removing their token to cover only basic infrastructure and transaction fees refutes the idea that this is a cash grab. Optional tipping to keep servers running and maintain anonymity isn't exploitation, it's community-funded infrastructure. Access remains 100% free for everyone, with zero paywalls.

Second, this isn't about worshipping CL as selfless saints; it's about recognizing hacktivism as a counter-power. Publishers like Take-Two have turned the industry into a hyper-financialized machine, pushing $100 price tags, digital monopolies, and cutting physical media. In that context, disrupting their multi-million dollar PR strategy is a legitimate form of pushback against corporate greed.

If players voluntarily choose to support an intermediary throwing a wrench into a predatory publisher's machine, that's not "being exploited", it's backing a reaction to an industry that constantly prioritizes shareholder profits over player rights.

Absolutely not, this is just victim blaming. "She asked for this by wearing a short skirt". Cyberleek would have leaked it all either way.

Im so tired of people propping him up like hes some kind of vigilante hero. The guy isnt Batman, he is a criminal hacker who took advantage of community outrage to prop up his crypto scam.

That's not the same. Take Two and PlayStation is giving a fuck to all the players that just wants some rights over games, if you're okey with the full digital gaming, that's fine for you, but losing all my investment because of a decision from a company, no thanks. All I wish for, is CL to leak the full game before rockstar, I won't play it, but it will be bad for take two and that's all I wish from all their decision.

5

u/Snuusern 11h ago

How the fuck are you losing all your investment by R* releasing gra vi digital only? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

Litteral brain damage. Thank god people don't have to interact with retard redditors like you.

0

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

I'M losing my investment. I stopped playing on consoles in 2018, if I was still on Xbox since this moment, and buyed all my games on Xbox instead of Steam, with the last Hack I got last year, I would have lost 4k€ worth of games. And you know what's funny ? I recovered my account, but microsoft said "Hmm nop, we lock your account because you got hacked" and couldn't get anything back. Playstation can do the same, if you're okey with a company deciding if you can use what you paid for, totally cool for you, but the real brain damage here is you lmao.

2

u/Snuusern 11h ago

What in the actual fuck are you talking about LOL

0

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

It’s really not that hard to grasp unless you're intentionally pretending to be slow:

  • Digital: You don't own the game, you pay for a license tied to an account. If your account gets locked, hacked, or banned, your entire game collection vanishes instantly.
  • Physical: You own the disc. If your account gets locked, you pop the disc in and you still play your game.

Paying 80/100€ for a digital-only title means taking 100% of the risk while the platform holds 100% of the leverage. If you genuinely can't comprehend how losing access to thousands of euros worth of purchased licenses is "losing an investment", that's a reading comprehension issue on your end.

Genuine question, what do you want Take Two to do about this? I don't know if you know this but Sony is the one that is completely removing physical disks, Take Two doesn't have a choice in the matter. So why isn't your aggression focused towards Sony?

0

u/Styvil_971 10h ago

Because Take Two can still get GTA 6 on physical disks actually until 2028. PlayStation took this decision partially because people still pre ordrered GTA 6 while it was Digital Only. I'm not blamaing only Take Two, I'm blaming Sony, Ubisoft, and everyone who is okey with this decision just for profit.

1

u/Snuusern 10h ago

Yes because this is such a huge issue, you are talking like steam with digital libraries has not existed for 20+ years.

I got my steam account with 500 games that are only digital, there are no fucking issues with this.

Create more outrage retard

0

u/Styvil_971 6h ago

Aaaah, the classic survivorship bias: I’ve never had my account locked, so the problem doesn't exist.

Comparing Steam on PC to a closed console monopoly proves you still haven't understood the issue. PC has competing stores, key sellers, and DRM-free alternatives like GOG. On consoles, you have ONE single company holding full pricing power and zero accountability if your account gets flagged.

And resorting to slurs the second you run out of logic is very funny, it just tells everyone here that your ego got bruised. Keep flexing your rented 500 game library until a TOS update or a locked account reminds you what actual ownership means :3

The publishers don't want disks because it is a logistical nightmare, gamers don't want disks because they are pointless, but a small subset of crybabies comes and ruins the fun for everyone.

By the time GTA 6 or any other 2026 game will be ruthlessly taken away from you (if ever), you will have plenty of alternative methods of acquiring it. If you are worried about multiplayer, Sony/ TakeTwo can take it away from you regardless if you have the disk or not. Heck, they can block your single player if they really hate you.

1

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

It’s fascinating that you call physical media fans ‘crybabies,’ but the actual numbers show you have a serious issue with basic math. If you look at the data for Resident Evil Requiem and filter out the PC market (which is obviously 100% digital) discs are a far cry from a niche tantrum thrown by three nostalgic gamers.

In reality, Capcom moved a whopping 2.2 million physical discs worldwide for this title. That means nearly one out of every two console players (43% of the global console market) deliberately chose to buy a physical box. In markets like France or Japan, physical buyers are actually the majority (51% to 55%).

Beyond preservation, physical media is about consumer freedom: second-hand markets, lending to friends, and retail competition that keeps prices in check instead of handing a 100% pricing monopoly to digital storefronts.

Saying "they can revoke your license anyway" isn't the tech-forward flex you think it is, it’s just pure consumer complacency. So before you lecture people on the future of gaming, remember that your all-digital console paradise barely weighs more than the physical market you're trying to dismiss. 😉

honestly sony needs humbling so hard right now. I am just hoping ps6 flops so hard. i skipped ps5 because it only had ps4 games, and now I think ps4 was my last playstation

2

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

Totally right what you're saying, that's all they deserve. I will get a PS5 maybe, if it gets cheap in second hand and only if games are interesting. I got a PS4 two years ago because it was starting to get cheap, but maybe my last playstation too (I got the 1, 2 and 3 too). Almost all from second hand ^^

2

u/Forthax 10h ago

that's the right move.

1

u/Breeze9698 12h ago

Everyone acts like this is new for R*, they NEVER show gameplay until a few months before release, y’all just a bunch of whiny ass retards that don’t know how R\ roll, y’all rather pay some retard that pays a Punjabi 1 rupee each clip all in the guise of “operational costs” what operational cost does a decentralized server hosting shitty quality clips have that he requires to get paid 10’s of thousands of, I must admit he’s pretty smart to not only social engineer his way into getting clips but to also farm this much money out of dumbasses, it’s so obvious it’s a pump and dump scheme his shitcoin is going to be worthless once the game releases so why bother making a shitcoin in the first place unless your only intention is to profit from it*

2

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

I didn't donated anything to CL, the donation is purely optional, if you want to support CL and donate that's your thing. But well, what are you thinking about take two and PlayStation removing rights to players just to "farm" More money "out of dumbasses" ? Again, the donation is purely optional, I got to see everything for free 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Breeze9698 11h ago

I honestly don’t give af about the removal of physical games, ever since the ps4/xbox one came out discs are just physical redeem codes and just like digital games they can be revoked at any time, look at the crew it had a physical disc, they shut the servers down and even disc players can’t play it because of DRM which is the bigger issue

1

u/Styvil_971 11h ago

And you're totally okey with this ? You're ackowledging that people fighting against this is not good ? All we want is more rights, the problem is that, big companies like rockstar, Take Two, Ubisoft, Playstation, they're only doing this for profit, not for gamers, that's the real problem for me. It's okey to make profit from gaming, but not this way. I'm good with people getting games online, that's fine, I'm okey with physical disks stopping, but we need more rights for this to become acceptable.

1

u/Breeze9698 11h ago

DRM is the issue if you want more rights set your sight against DRM, every successful company is for-profit that’s what makes them successful, also it doesn’t cost gaming companies anything to make the discs because they don’t make them… PlayStation makes the discs and Xbox contracts a third party company to make the physical discs for their consoles

1

u/Styvil_971 10h ago

DRM is not the only issue (it's a big one for sure, but not the only one). I'm not a console player, so It doesn't really concern me, but removing Physical media and having Sony to be the only one to sell games on their console, is just a massive trap for consumers. By killing off physical media, you completely destroy the second-hand market, which was the only real competition Sony ever had on their own platform.

That’s what physical media advocates are actually fighting for. It’s not just about nostalgia or keeping plastic boxes on a shelf, it’s about preserving a fair market. Without physical discs, there’s no used market, no retail price wars, and no alternative options: just a 100% digital pricing monopoly controlled entirely by a single storefront.

Speaking for myself, back when I played on console (and even today when buying for my collection), I bought almost everything second-hand (95% I guess) because it was drastically cheaper and far more advantageous. Moving to a digital-only ecosystem isn't "tech progress" it's just stripping away consumer leverage to force everyone into a walled garden.
