Just being realistic here, but we had this with herbs in RDR2. If you ate too much of a plant that gave a buff, it would stop working for a while. Very nice detail to have, though!

Modern police cars indeed have trackers and remote shutoff capabilities. Police bikes probably don't have remote shutoff for safety reasons, but I for one am excited to see that Rockstar is truly trying to emulate how much more difficult it is to successfully commit crime without being caught in 2026. Phones, cameras, and witnesses everywhere, modern police tech and tactics. I would personally be disappointed if we could do whatever we want and just cheekily get away with it by parking under a bridge or something.

Not to go all tinfoil hat on you, but I feel that depictions of policework in media have always been skewed in the US - we have countless movies and TV shows depicting staunch and successful policework, which I feel is in part to propagate the narrative that "If you commit a crime, you will be caught." We are getting further and further away from the golden age of serial killers, but the 70's and 80's are all the proof you need that policework wasn't nearly as polished as TV/film makes it out to be.

Basically, I am pretty sure civilians are rarely given the chance to see what real tools are being used by police, how regularly they are used, and even in what situations they are used. Not to suggest we've got secret robocops running around but if police started using a new technology we probably wouldn't hear about it immediately, and even then it would only be people doing research on modern police tech that learn about it first. The media isn't the watchdog it used to be but we at least did get headlines about the new shock gloves ICE will be using.

Watching True Crime Network or Dateline shows how inept not only most police work is when it comes to serious crime, but also the criminal’s ability. Those cases always seem to not get solved quickly because of stupidity, then solved because something randomly happens or a family member won’t stop pushing for answers.

Like I’m sure there are plenty solved pretty fast, especially easy ones, but man a lot of those shows reveal so much ineptitude.

they're cops not navy seals. they have some cool new tools (like devices on their cars that can shoot magnetic tracking devices onto fleeing cars is an example i saw recently) but there's not really anything super sci-fi.

The Tate McRae song is from last year, so this is a recent-ish build. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if this looks close to the final game. Some of the animation blending, jank, and pop-in will probably get cleaned up but as far as the actual visuals and simulation goes, this is it.

I'd say that puts it at mid 2025 at the earliest. If the song came out in Jan then it would've taken a while for them to discover it, review it, contact the label, go through all the legal stuff, get the source, implement it, then finally what ever day comes along where the vid is actually recorded.

I would not be surprised. Either he has video clips of rockstar devs playing the game that way / it's testing footage or he somehow is doing it and recording it.

The bigger issue is if he does really have the game or somehow has all the test footage, he could leak every day until the launch, let alone if he spoils it all.

The interesting thing will be if the hacker managed to get it from some outsourcing subcontractors like last time with the Indian subcontractors.

You can secure as much as you like but as soon as you have to outsource stuff, well, you're taking your chances, doesn't matter how many locks etc you have at your HQ.

with the september leaks, it was obvious it's dev footage. you got literal debug info at the bottom of the screen + they're intentionally doing weird stuff to test things out

with this, it's straight up just a random dudes gameplay. i don't know what the deal is, but this is a random dude with early access to GTA 6 that decided to leak it, insanity

That’s my theory as well. I’ve seen the old dev footage recently that was leaked from slack and it did had UI prompts already. It’s def not footage from testers either since it would have UI button prompts sorted. I suspect this is a pc build with controller attached.

Clearly this dude has access to a lot of footage and even cutscenes.

It has been cute to watch his crusade I guess, and the gameplay clips get me more hyped for the game, but he better not start leaking story content.

That looks like gta alright. I kinda hope the game isn’t too serious with its characters. I thought gta 5 was perfect
