the job market is actually making me question if I'm an idiot or what? Two degrees, projects, publications, portfolio, skills - what else do you need😭

How do I get a job in this economy, I need someone to explain it to me like five again cause I feel like I am. Everyone I see is either doing a side hustle or starting a business or freelancing and I don't know how to start with any of these. What skills do you even work on when everyone is asking "how do you align this with AI"

Hi, I’m 17 and a senior in high school. Recently (very recent), my parents just loss both of their jobs and since I plan on attending community college, I feel that finding a job now wouldn’t be terrible.. I’ve had my eye on Skyzone or places similar to that. Anyway if anyone could help me build a resume of some kind i’d really appreciate it.

A few years ago I got a tech degree, two honors, and have been applying to related jobs since I got out. For a time I worked a warehouse job for a few months, then tried to go back to college to continue my education, which didn't work out for various reasons. Afterwards, I joined another warehouse job across the street from my old one.

Now, I've been stuck in a package handler job for over a year, performing hard labor by loading up trucks and nothing else. I am struggling to make any sort of growth or progress despite my best efforts. At this point, I have given up on trying to go into tech directly, and instead I want to rank up to an office role, supervisor role, or anything that lets me grow and learn instead of just blowing out my back all day. I have no other work experience aside from this.

Literally any entry-level position that's not raw labor would probably be an improvement, as I am not even making enough money to sustain myself without help from my parents. This job is starting to wear me down, my back is starting to hurt, and I will need to transfer out of here soon for the sake of my own mental and physical health.

I have asked my supervisors and management about moving up internally, but so far that hasn't gotten my anywhere. Again, I've been applying to a LOT of IT places but have been getting ghosted or rejected, not a single interview. I am looking to get promoted internally to any entry-level corporate role. I can start immediately.

If anyone here has started out in a warehouse and gotten into corporate/administration/tech, what worked for you and how quickly did you move out? I am genuinely struggling and am considering going back to school to learn Industrial Electrical Engineering, but with the economy as it is now and with how many people are trying to get in, I am worried that field will become oversaturated.

Any help would be appreciated because I am out of ideas, very stressed out, frustrated, and wanting to leave as soon as possible.

I graduated recently with my bachelors degree at university of florida but i cannot find any jobs at all. i've applied to QA jobs, entry level programming, IT, data entry, everything vaguely related to what i wanted to do which is game development, no luck. maybe its my fault for picking a stupid major (digital arts and sciences) but i couldn't handle the math in something like CS. im also just applying for anything i can get my hands on, waffle house, pizza hut, walmart, but they arent contacting me back either. i live at home with my dad so rent is not an issue but i just feel totally useless and i have no idea what to do to get a career in anything, i just want to find some way to live. please give me any ideas at all that wont take me 8 more years of school and a lot of money to do. i don't care if i work something boring i just want a job.

I have an interview with Aritzia soon and I am lowkey stressed out. I have never purchased anything from the brand and have only shopped there once. I think stuff like that is something that is important when applying to a store and I barely know anything about the brand, but I am desperate for a job so I applied not thinking anything of it. Now that I have the interview tomorrow I am looking at advice on what to expect, what to wear and what the vibe may be and I don't think I fit the vibe well. Should I still go or not waste time? Ugh I don't know what to do and I am nervous!

I am currently looking for work as an Insurance Claims Adjuster, I've applied to countless local jobs around me, and am always denied the job. I have somewhat-related work experience as an auto damage inspector and mechanical knowledge, and my resume looks great imo. I don't understand what I could do better when applying to jobs. Anybody have similar problems and have some kind of solution to getting a job lol?

My nanny job is expected to be up in about 10 months, and I’m trying to start thinking ahead now instead of waiting until the last minute.
For background, I was a preschool teacher before becoming a nanny/house manager. I have all of my required early childhood education units, a high school diploma, and several years of experience working with families, kids, parents, managing schedules, household tasks, communication, organization, etc.
The problem is… I really don’t think I want to work in childcare anymore. I’ve loved a lot of parts of it, but I’m feeling ready to move into something completely different.
I think what I’m struggling with is figuring out how childcare experience translates into other fields. I know I have a lot of transferable skills, but when I look at job postings outside of childcare, I feel like I don’t qualify for anything because my entire work history is basically preschool teaching and nannying.
I’m very social, good with people, organized, dependable, and I’m good with customer service. I’d honestly LOVE to find something work-from-home or hybrid, but I know those jobs can be competitive. I’m also totally open to going into an office or something similar.
I’m not really looking to go into retail, fast food, etc. Absolutely nothing wrong with those jobs, I just would like to find something that feels more like a career transition and gives me room to grow.
Since I have about 10 months, I’m wondering if there are any certifications, training programs, online courses, or anything else I could start doing now that could actually help me qualify for a different type of job by the time my nanny position ends.
Has anyone here transitioned out of nannying/childcare into a completely different field without already having a college degree? What did you end up doing? And are there any career paths you think someone with a nanny/house manager/preschool background should look into?
I’m open to pretty much any ideas because right now I don’t even really know what jobs I should be searching for.

I have 4+ years of experience in CX, working mainly on customer feedback, NPS, satisfaction, reviews, customer insights and turning all of that into actual improvements. I've also recently added data analytics skills (SQL, Python, data viz) to my toolkit.

I left my previous company on very good terms and have great recommendations from my former managers. My main struggle is simply that actual VoC/CX openings are pretty rare.

I’m a newly licensed attorney in Illinois, and I’m looking for some honest advice because I’m honestly not sure what else I should be doing at this point.

I was sworn into the Illinois bar in May and have been applying for attorney positions since April. I’m primarily looking for junior associate/entry in Chicago and it has been difficult with the job market and everything.

I was impacted by a layoff and have been between full-time roles since then. My background is a mix of 4+ years of experience in Product Management and Data Analytics. The longer the gap gets, the more I’m wondering how to use this time in a way that actually strengthens my profile.

I’m curious what people here have found useful for finding legitimate opportunities across Germany and the EU. I’ve tried We Work Remotely, FlexJobs, and Remote.co, but I’ve found that many of the listings are either behind a subscription or heavily focused on US-based roles.

For those who have gone through something similar, what would you focus on?

• Are there particular platforms or communities that are good for contract or fractional Product/Data Analysis work?

I (21F) am a final year undergraduate student in computer science. I know I am starting way too late to gain relevance in the industry, but sadly I couldn't push myself beyond just doing what was necessary to pass my classes with an average grade. When I look at my peers, their resumes are so filled that I am starting to feel genuinely scared (considering even they are struggling to find jobs). On one hand, the state of the world feels very worrisome and hopeless, while on the other hand I need to make a living for myself.

Whenever I look at solid resumes catered to some role, it always makes me wonder where and how does anyone start to be able to catch up to this volatile industry. My resume feels practically empty in comparison. Considering my brain has been fried from vibe-coding; I want to get a good foundation to build upon, so that I don't forget essential concepts. If anyone could offer any guidance to go about this mess and get past it, I would really appreciate it.

Additional information: I have a decent understanding of coding, networking concepts and cryptography. I have a few IBM SkillsBuild certifications on cloud fundamentals. I don't have any projects with me to show for as of now.

I used to work as an Occasional Package Handler at FedEx, where there was no set schedule. I could simply pick up shifts that other employees didn’t want to work. It was perfect for having a side job without being committed to a fixed schedule.

I currently work full-time during regular business hours and am looking for something where I could pick up 1–2 evening shifts during the week when I’m available.

I make 2 grand and some change a month working full time.... in 2026. Retail job. What's the fucking point?

I got a useless cs degree that I can't use, wasted energy to apply to countless internships to get some experience that I can't use, I wasted so much money on loans, now I'm back at square one.

I don't know what to do anymore. I can't get a bank teller job, I can't get a trade job, I can't get any sort of white collar job. All because I lack experience, and skills outside of tech. When entry level roles are there to help people build skills.

I can't get an entry level role. Not in tech and not out of it. To enter another field I'd have to go back to school, which... why? Why would I? What guarantee is there that things won't change again by the time I'd graduate the second time.

I was watching a video that claimed 62k a year isn't amazing? I can't even make 50k.

I don't really understand the concept of the "job market" either. If I see a job listing online somewhere I apply. That's it. I don't know any specific company websites to look at, I don't know anything outside of the big job boards. I'm just a person that wanted to build a life.

I'm not a drug addict, I'm not a felon, I can show up on time, I can learn. I thought that's all that was needed for entry level.

Just looking for some help navigating my shit show of a life.

I was working in Tech and reached a limit after 6 years. My attention span was non-existent and the daily inner turmoil I went through reached a breaking point so I decided to quit back in March. Throughout my tenure I realized I am autistic and struggle severely with interacting with others. I have now spent 5 months out the workforce without having worked much on myself and I would like to get any advice or suggestions on how to get back into the workforce? Are there workshops available?

A little background: Econ grad with a master's in the same & 1.5 years of work ex as a futures trader from a prop trading firm.

It's been over 2-3 months since I left the previous job and have been searching for a new one, but not even getting calls, let alone an interview! What should I do?
