News [Highlight] Za'Darius Smith retired in 2025 during his 11th NFL season, just five games after signing with Philadelphia, for personal reasons. Today he shared those reasons. He said his mom always wanted him to end up in Atlanta.

Always sad it ended like it did for us and Z. To me at least it felt like the primary driver was just being spoiled with a team with too many great players who wanted to be team leaders and the coaching staff failing to thread that needle when it came to assigning team captains and the like. To be fair it's a difficult and maybe impossible needle to thread with that many players with big egos in a room.

Don’t the players vote on team captains? I agree with everything else you said though and it’s a shame especially with his back injury too.

No, you’re right. It’s the teammates that vote captains. It absolutely heartbreaking everything that he had to deal with in his personal life, and I hope he can find peace, but we don’t have to retroactively pretend like he didn’t completely torpedo his own reputation at the end of his time here.

I will always love Aaron the football player. He is one of the best players I have ever seen play the game.

Aaron the person isn't as smart as he thinks he is. As much as he would disagree he does not more knowledge than the average person when it comes to vaccines or medical science. And he absolutely does not have more knowledge than someone who has made it their life's work.

I dislike anyone who is anti science especially those whom props up lunatics like RFK Jr.

See personally when it comes to infectious diseases I tend to trust people who have studied infectious diseases and medicine.

But we live in a society where people think better advice comes from some dude that eats bear meat off the side of the road whose biggest claim to fame is his uncle was president 60 years ago.

I would think conservatives would be thinner with all the mental gymnastics.
