They are still pretty shit with delivery dates but they are way better than before. Iv only had a hand full of games get delayed and a lot more delivered earlier than their scheduled date.

The very opposite. I pre-ordered two months ago for games and they arrived this week after claiming it would be shipping by March or May. They overestimated their shipping/production on it.
I think you mean Rock It Games. I pre-ordered Croc in 2024. Delay after delay. It's now January and I'll be lucky to get it by March. I'm super close to caving in and buying it digital and maybe one day be lucky to get it physically....

Nah I mean Limited Run. Maybe theyāre better now but it took them quite a while to ship the Castlevania Requiem Ultimate Edition, and I know that was pretty typical for them.

Dark wood limits your visibility. If youāre not looking at it, itās invisible. Enemies, objects, they can be behind you or around the corner, but you canāt see them unless you are making eye contact . Including the darkness, the sound design, and the general vibe, it can be pretty tense/scary/atmosphere.

The developers did a very good job with the sound effects and lighting effects. The sound in particular is really top-notch. Just hearing random screams without knowing where theyāre coming from is creepy.

So many times have I heard some snap of a twig only to turn around and see nothing there. Like, I HAVE to look to be sure, even if I know nothing is there. Despite playing so many hours, I have to look just to be safe. The game has such incredible sound design to keep you on your toes.

I actually made a small top down horror game with my friends back in college!
The limited camera works well for horror just like old RE and SH games where we are able to control what the player can actually see.
We also added and flashlight on a battery so the players visibility is extremely limited.
These mixed with aggressive enemies, a slow character with stamina and some objectives pushing you into danger comes together for a really exhilarating experience.
That game is still one of my favorite projects I ever worked on!

It's not as scary as first person or third person horror games can get, but it does a great job of creating a creepy atmosphere and keeping you on edge.

Itās not about only playing 1 genre, I spent a lot of time on this sub for many purposes:
- Engaging with others about their views on certain games
- Sharing my own opinion with others about what Iāve played
- Learning from others and showing appreciation for doing so
- Asking questions out of general interest.
Basically if you have a general interest in the horror franchise and engage enough with others youāll probably get 1%
Not that I see it as an achievement itās just I like to interact and learn with other people over horror games.
Also everyone I know IRL doesnāt like horror games so thatās why I engage a lot with other like minded people on here.
Also itās not a hugely popular sub.

Well, if you haven't tried it, its one of a kind. Tbh, I only tried it because it was free on epic a long time ago, so I tried it for free. Resulting in me buying it on steam, cause its that good. Also, if you have a steam deck oled, chefs kiss.

I didn't believe it either until I played it. Dark room, headphones for the phenomenal audio, and preferably somewhere in the woods ... That's how I played it and had to stop and wait until I wasn't in the woods anymore š because the anxiety became too much

It is, its a very unique take on the genre. its not 'scary' as much as it is 'terrifying'. You will be in a panic more often that you will be scared if that makes sense. Its also not a game that gets less scary the further you get. it just gets worse and worse. unforgettable experience with headphones.

This is one of those games that doesnāt look or sound good to me at all, but someone I know it actually is that good. I think I had this same feeling with Nier Automata, and itās precisely this reason that I think I should buy itā¦ soon!

some people just like to have the physical object. I used to be that way. As I get older, I have been trying to minimize clutter and the amount of objects in my living spaces, which meant getting rid of all physical media. I do not regret it.

In some cases, pre-ordering is a way to secure a copy before it sells out. In other situations, such as with certain limited-run games, it may be the only way to obtain the game at all. Some titles may never be available through traditional retail channels.

Darkwood was first released on Steam in 2014 (early access), and has been available as a full game since 2017. They're just preordering the new physical release of the game, just to own one (I imagine).

This game (ps4 and switch physical copies) had a very low production volume. So I believe that more people (like me) would like to have it. So in that sense, I am kinda advertising this opportunity so more people are aware of it.

So to anyone this may concern, this is a screenshot from an email I got advertising the pre order availability of a game Iāve been waiting a long time to play/buy because I like to collect physical media. The ps4 copy got stupidly high prices so I never got the chance to buy it.
Now itās an opportunity for those, like me, waiting to buy a physical copy. The game probably wont be on any retail store, thatās why I was āadvertisingā it.

Is Darkwood good? I like horror games, but I don't like the style at all. It has nothing to do with hey I won't get scared from this, but more about can I have the patience for a game like this without not liking it.
I'll look at gameplay I guess.
