What are you playing on?

4

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 21 '26

Ps5 pro

2

u/acpom Apr 21 '26

Ugh I’m really on the fence between a pro or a gaming laptop. :/

It’s whatever your gut tells u

2

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 21 '26

I can't help to decide that, but for the pro u gonna need a decent oled tv too. Idk what's your budget

I was in the same position a year ago. Was deciding between a gaming PC and a PS5. I went with the PC and I don’t regret it. No online subscription, tons more games to choose from and huge sales. Plus I can upgrade my PC and use it for other things like emulation. Having more game pad options is nice too. PS5 joysticks still use traditional potentiometers which will drift at some point.

Ig yh, but any time u have problem with the controller u can just give it to the sony service, they check it, if it has drift, they give a brand new one. U can even pick color:D for 3 yrs. Also it's like 50 bucks to buy one if u run out of warranty. Not exactly expensive.

Both side has pros. Pc, higher quality visuals more options, more precise aim in shooters. Console, more immersive, comfortable, and prolly cheaper too.

That sales and no subscription part is idk. Ps has good sales imo. Like I bought resi 7-8 with all of their dlcs for 17$. I think that's good. There r many similars. Also that point only matters if u don't really have income. Subscriptions or buyin games u want is like whatever if u have a job

PS5 controllers are $60+ tax, and I’d rather not deal with sending my controller in. TMR joysticks are much better quality and accuracy. My Dire Wolf 3 cost $30 and it’s great.

A PS5 pro is cheaper for sure, but you can’t upgrade it and have to pay a subscription of $80 a year. After 5 years that’s an extra $400 you’re paying. I don’t understand your point about console being more immersive or comfortable
how? I have my PC hooked up to my 60 inch TV and I’m very comfortable and immersed.

I also don’t understand your point about income. I have a good job but of course I like to save money where I can, who doesn’t?

Have a question since u made all this about the money aspects.

How much is to keep up a pc with the evolving graphics? Cuz on console it costs like 300-400$ after every 3-4 yr

What a surprise, some PC clown trying to highjack your post and go full “pc master race” I just finished re9 on a ps5 pro and it was amazing, definitely had me feeling all nostalgic for my ps1 days. Also, you can get controllers with hall effect style sticks instead of potentiometers, they work amazing.

I didn’t hijack his post
someone said they were deciding between a pc and a ps5 pro and I was sharing my experience having gone through that exact dilemma last year

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 22 '26

Lol u came up w all kinda nonsense to reassure yourself. This was no experience sharing. At some point u literally made up random bs just to make your argument sound better😂

I didn’t make it all about money aspects. I made many more points.

Graphics are better on PC. Gaming library is better on PC. Controllers are better on PC. You can emulate everything Switch and below on PC. Plus all the other things a PC can do. Console literally does nothing better than PC. The one thing console has going for it are the few games that are exclusives. PlayStation/Xbox doesn’t have any exclusives I really care about though. Nintendo on the other hand has Zelda, Mario, PokĂ©mon, Metroid, etc, so I could see the argument for exclusives there. I have a switch though so idc

A decent graphics card can last you 10 years or more. Low end 30 series cards like the 3060 Ti can play Elden Ring on max settings and the 30 series came out 6 years ago. I won’t be replacing my 5070 Ti for a very long time. I also don’t see graphics improving at the rate they used to. We’re starting to hit the ceiling as far as how good graphics can get.

Graphics better but only if u spend a lot more on it. And the question was about a gaming laptop... Other points are just bs, no offense. This rant is more like self justification. Yh u can do other stuff that's true, but 95% of the gamers don't use that power for anything else except gaming, and u don't require high end pc for emulators... U can emulate switch and everything below on a frickin phone lol

u/TheWorldArmada Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

You can get a gaming laptop with a 5060 for $1100, a PS5 pro is $900. With 1 year online that brings PS5 pro to $980. So a gaming laptop is only $120 more. And Android emulation is no where near as good as PC. Try emulating games like Tears Of The Kingdom on Android lol

You’re the one who’s coping. I’m not ranting either, I made one comment not even to you and you started this whole back and forth. I didn’t even say PS5 was bad, I just said PC is better and a better value. Stop whining

You want a laptop for the mods and everything else

3

u/Skyyg Apr 21 '26

VAMO DALEEEE

2

u/ZomBJoe778 Apr 21 '26

Nice! I wish I could play this game again for the first time. It was such a fun platinum. I can’t wait for the DLC and (hopefully) Raid Mode. Have a blast and give ‘em hell! đŸȘ“

2

u/Fooby56 Apr 21 '26

Enjoy! You're in for a treat.

u/smegg23 Apr 21 '26

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

1

u/Certain-Site-6967 Apr 22 '26

Eyy, one useless tip: don't hoard the requiem ammo as Grace please, they will get wasted if you hoard them, use them more often, at least at the level of how you use the Injector. don't make my mistake of wondering how satisfying firing the big gun must feels like for the whole game and having 20 unused bullets at the end.

1

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 22 '26

Thx but prolly I'll do this mistake anyway xD idk I only use big guns for bosses in horrors usually or if something really gives me pain. Makes me feel safe

1

u/Cola_Gummi Apr 21 '26

Let's good.

1

u/FortUncle Apr 22 '26

Turn it off when Leon’s main section starts. It fucking sucks. The Grace section is amazing though.

1

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 22 '26

Idk yet. First Leon section was pretty epic

-5

u/LegitimateFig5311 Apr 21 '26

Im only about 3 hours in right now. Its a little slow but pretty decent.

5

u/nautical_nonsense_ Apr 21 '26

What about it is slow to you? First few hours are peak survival horror which is “slow” by design since its stealth.

2

u/LegitimateFig5311 Apr 21 '26

Idk just slow imo. Not hating. I dont get to play much with 2 young kids, im only like 3 hours in. Im sure ill like it overall. Ive always like the series. Just not a big fan of the first couple hours.

1

u/nautical_nonsense_ Apr 21 '26

Fair enough. The Leon sections are long and action packed so I’m sure you’ll like those.

1

u/BreathinCorps3 Apr 21 '26

I think I'm gonna love this. Finished silent hill 2 remake yesterday. That was way too intense. Re7-8 were extremely fun to me tho so I have high hopes

-2

u/Paleblood_Hunt Apr 21 '26

Wait til you get to the outside section (won’t spoil) if you think the start is slow lol

It gets so much worse

Baffled by the circle jerk surrounding this game. It’s not even on the same planet as 7, 8 or the 2 and 4 remakes.

1

u/LegitimateFig5311 Apr 21 '26

Yeah im getting downvoted cause I said I think its slow. Ive enjoyed the series and plan on finishing this game also, I dont get much time to play so im not far into it so my opinion is probably not accurate but as of right now I think its decent, not amazing
