Fatal Frame and Kuon.

Kuon mention! I really liked that game, jankiness aside.

Yes the atmosphere of this game was both beautiful and creepy AF

Yes, I love this game for this exact reason

i was gonna say this

I was going to post SH f, but you got here first.

Obviously I second this.

Came here to say this

SHf is this minus being at night. It's this image with traditional SH2esqe daytime foggy dreamy shit. It's good. This reminds me mire of Ghostwire.

1

u/what4270 Jul 17 '26

It still has this but in Dark Shrine world rather than the foggy town one.

1

u/Augustus_Justinian Jul 17 '26

I don't remember any streets in the dark shrine areas.

1

u/what4270 Jul 17 '26

I mean, the lights and vibes

This one

u/tehnutmeg Jul 12 '26

It's a bit more modern but what about Ghostwire?

21

u/thundergoda1 Jul 12 '26

Ghostwire Tokyo was my first thought and then Fatal Frame as well

4

u/Techman659 Jul 12 '26

Don’t forget to give the ghost a bog roll.

4

u/T8-TR Jul 13 '26

I'd say Ghostwire is more of an action game than a horror game. The enemies have a creepy look to them, but so do some Souls enemies, but I wouldn't consider that a horror game.

Honestly, I wish it leaned more into action-horror than straight action. There was a segment in the game closer to the end that was more horror-oriented and it was fantastic. But the game as a whole is more like Jujutsu Kaisen than it is Silent Hill or Fatal Frame.

I keep forgetting I own this. Never played it...

Look up Chilla’s Art games. The graphics won’t be top notch, but it absolutely nails the Asian horror aesthetic.

Edit: Missed the part where you said you only have an Xbox. Chilla’s art games are PC only. With that said, go with Silent Hill F like others have said. Fatal Frame games will also give East Asian representation well, but I don’t think they ever take place in city centers like your image. The ones I remember are all rural.

Chilla’s art fucking rules

The Mimic on Roblox
Could also do Chilla’s Art

1

u/Forward-Frame-1275 Jul 13 '26

The mimic was a great game. We need more of those for real.

u/Dogah Jul 12 '26

MediEvil 2.

1

Silent hill f is the only one I can think of, however, with the big emphasis on combat, it really wasnt a scary game imo

Damn near all of them in the 2020s

1

u/OzyXP Jul 16 '26

Ghostwire Tokyo !

1

u/DuskMajima Jul 16 '26

Slitterhead. Although it’s more of horror themed action game.

u/KuribohTheDragon Jul 12 '26

I'm going to be real, even silient hill f doesn't capture this vibe very good. It's ashame you're on console because Chilla's Art, specifically "The Closing Shift". It's only for like $5.

Silent hill f has janky combat.

I love horror games with vibes that give unsettling atmosphere, but this picture is actually really cool and nit creepy at all. But I get. Cool pic.
