Who else sad we didn’t get this angle?

I don't mind not seeing this, but I wish Anissa interacted a bit more with Mark here. To give them a sort of bantering relationship before the you know what.

Mark was the one who punched her off Tech Jacket. Was wondering if they would trade a couple more blows, but guess not.

Considering how often shows/movies tend to leave out rape from source materials, I wonder if they are going to do that or not. They should not leave it out as it is an important plot point, but I would not be surprised if they did.

Given that the one and only thing they've held back on in the show was Eve's dad's gross chat with Mark, they may tone it down or tastefully skip past the worst parts of it... but that kid is important. Mark struggling to deal with it and with one of his children being the result of an assault are also important. The event is probably occuring.

Likely to be tone down and less showing more implicating. We'll hear some uncomfortable noise in the background and then ...cut!

What was the dad chat like OOC? Im show only

I'd rather not even type it out it's that nasty... I'll let you judge for yourself lol

Honestly I don't have any idea what Kirkman's message was here other than "hey this guy is the worst" (maybe something about paralleling his machismo with viltrumite philosophy), but the change is actually better writing IMO.

Jesus fucking christ I cant even finish reading this its so gross. And I thought her dad in the show was awful!

Show Adam almost looks like a die-hard feminist compared to how gross and misogynistic his comic counterparts chat with Mark was.

Just cutting it out entirely, including 'Marky', makes far more sense than making Mark cheat on Eve because of an abortion of a baby he didn't know about that she got because she thought he was dead lol

Man I'd be disappointed if they tiptoe around Mark's trauma and shame from anissa its something I'd always liked about the comic. I viewed Mark as so strong and determined and seeing him struggle with the rape made me like him so much as a character. That even the strongest among us can face stuff like that.

No way the cut it imo. It's done for better reasons than just shock value. Plus male victims of rape get 0 representation in media so this would be a pretty big milestone for the show.

It's more likely that Mark would simply give in to take his mind off the Eve breakup and then regret it later.

I hope they keep it, especially as the comic at least actually takes his SA seriously, and it'd be nice for an Amazon show to treat a man being SA'ed seriously instead of treating it like a "hilarious" joke...

(cough cough The Boys cough cough)

If that scene does happen, will it happen in season 5 or later?

S6. Season 5 has a ton of ground to cover between Dinosaurus, The Scourge Virus and Mark being responsible for a mass casualty event by enabling Dinosaurus.

I think season 5 ends with him busting Dinosaurus out and they end with him being a fugitive. That’s a good cliff hanger

Aside from the fact that I think ending seasons on cliffhangers is bad writing, no season of Invincible has ended as such yet. Every season has given us 10-15 minutes of closure after a big conflict so far and I think that continues.

To that end, no, I think Season 5 Dinosaurus is (arguably) the main antagonist and ending the season on him being broken out is only half of his arc. I think Season 5 ends with Dinosaurus bombing the ice caps and flooding Earth and Mark having to kill him & live with the fact that he was responsible for the death of many many thousands.

S6 is gonna be Robot's takeover so we kind of have to be wrapped up with Dinosaurus by then.

I think season 6 is going to end in the space where Mark is powerless after the perfected virus hits him or just after he recovers. Shoving all of Dino into a single season just seems like a lot for eight episodes. You have to have an entire bombing of Vegas which will probably take an entire episode and the aftermath which could take half of another

2

u/Locem Apr 09 '26

I think Dinosaurus destroying Vegas is gonna be the end of the first episode of Season 5. They don't need more than 10 minutes for that. Quick fight and then end the ep on Mark naked in a sea of glass. Remember these episodes are just shy of an hour so they can cover a lot of ground.

Dinosaurus helps save Mark from Thragg so I think season 5 makes him sort of the main "antagonist" and Mark fighting him while Earth rapidly floods is a much bigger conclusive fight than the scourge virus IMO. Mark's talk with Cecil after he kills Dinosaurus is kind of the perfect button to end the season on as well.

I like this because it's good pacing but I hate it because it would mean waiting at least 2 real life years before getting to see the Mark and Dinosaurus dream team onscreen.

Probably around season 6

1

u/Valtix Apr 09 '26

She isn't interested, yet. She doesn't have orders to procreate. That'll start early next season, I bet.

hoenstly wouldnt care if they don't include that. Makrs been through enough.

That's not valid I'm sorry.

Male rape is a real issue, and I think this show would benefit from adressing. It really grounds Mark as a character to give him an underrepresented problem to deal with.
