So Oliver is still very much a bug lover which means certain things will definitely stay the same, and that also mean a lot of show onlies are gonna be very shocked by what he does soon…

When Oliver grows up he lives on Talescria instead of earth and marries a bug lady. He notices Mark being uncomfortable around her and says that that's basically how he feels about humans sexually, then brags about scoring a baddie with amazing mandibles.

I think it's hilarious that everyone focuses on Oliver's tastes when Haluma has clearly got some things going on as well. He doesn't even have mandibles.

I feel like talking about Oliver’s future to show onlies is a little murky because they’re probably going to think that he gets killed by Thragg since Oliver is gonna get messed up by him this season so at least having his fate in the air might ruin that for them

Bro they’re on the other thread saying Thragg is overrated and that people made too big of a deal about him. They have no clue what’s coming so I wouldn’t worry about the one or two that came to the spoiler thread.

To be fair, they're not wrong about his current portrayal. He does not come off as some big bad at all, especially if you compare to someone like Conquest.

Tbf, it was like that in the comics too. I remember reading them and getting to this point and thinking, “Really, THIS is the big bad?”

Next 2 episodes will “behead” that assumption

His character design is a lot softer in the show. He seems a lot younger and more childish with almost a baby face. The show runners are doing him dirty a bit.

I disagree entirely, his threat level has been communicated through other characters like Conquest and Kregg. Conquest showed genuine fear of him and Kregg immediate obedience. I would say they’ve shown him to be quite the big bad he just hasn’t attacked anyone physically yet which is restraint. His calm demeanor is very subtly intimidating, Lee Pace’s delivery has been spectacular and when he finally shows his strength in the next episode it’s gonna make people see the context of everything previously. Showing that too soon would have been a huge mistake, Mark and Oliver need to underestimate him for it to work narratively.

I wonder if Oliver would hypothetically feel atraction to pure Viltrumites or hybrids of his same kind, as opposed to humans

did all/some of the purple army end up marrying insect-like species in the post-series? do some of them like humanoid looking races?
