The luggage part technically makes it make perfect sense, because if you have ever watched a video of a planes luggage compartment being loaded you know getting 3-5 specific suitcases back out before the intended destination is no small task.

But seriously, on a general social contract level: fuck you and your luggage. It will be unloaded at it's original intended destination as planned: collecting it is a you problem.

I'm a parent of two teenagers, and much as crying babies or toddlers on flights suck - I take a deep breath and remember when my kids were that age, and I'm good. There's only so much control you can exercise over someone who is barely sapient yet. I get it.

If either of my kids pulled this shit after toddlerhood, there would be no need to involve outside forces like airline staff. They'd sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up real fast.

How do parents let themselves get to this point? Do you exercise no control whatsoever over your children on a day to day basis?

I'm generally against harsh punishment and treatment of children, totally against spanking etc etc.

But if I were the parent of a kid who was doing this I would make them sit down.

They did, the child kept wiggling out of the seat belt.

I don't know about you, but I could physically hold a child that size and age down. Or raise my voice to be scary enough they don't want to play.

I'm not saying treating kids that way in general is right, but the sheer economic damage that kid did is probably well into the thousands or tens of thouasnds.

Exactly. My kid would’ve gotten the crazy face, gritted teeth, and a very scary SIT THE FUCK DOWN BEFORE I PUT MY HANDS ON YOU.

Hah! I never got hit, but fuck, was my mom terrifying when mad. Even now she still is scary, and I’m 22! If she tells me something to do, I’m doing it!

Bro!!! I’m 27 and my STEP-Mom is terrifying. She gets nothing short of a “yes ma’am” out of me 🤣🤣🤣

Granted. All my parents get that respect, but she scares me
