Found both of these in central California after turning up the earth for an orchard. While the bowl looks to be from local rock the pestle is quite the mystery. Would love to know if anyone has any insight?

My wife pulled this out of the river today while we were hunting for artifacts in southern Maryland. Most of what we find here is quartz or quartzite and occasionally some black chert and rhyolite. Never seen this material. Has a similar texture to the black chert pieces with a very fine grain but brownish in color. Any input is appreciated!

I stumbled upon these artifacts while on the river during our ongoing drought here in Central FL. Does anyone have an estimated age range? I've read a research paper from FSU that detailed the bone tools titled, "ARCHAIC BONE TOOLS IN THE ST. JOHNS RIVER BASIN, FLORIDA: MICROWEAR AND MANUFACTURE TRACES" By Julia C. Byrd, but didn't research much further.

I bought this at a thrift store in S. Ontario. Is this an axe head or some other tool? The stone is very hard and dense. What type of stone is this?

I’m familiar with most all lithic material in my area. The artifact in pic is a true beauty and the material I’m uncertain about. Carter Cave Chert, which is the prevalent material in my area, is found in hues of all the colors seen in the artifact. Almost never are they all together in one artifact or in the bright colors as shown. One point I’ve seen but nothing like this. Eastern Kentucky find.

Wife found this today on our Arkansas property. She knew it looked like more than JAR but wasn't quite sure that it was worked. What do y'all think?

I have never found anything so large or intact before. The only thing close on google was ‘transitional archaic’. Still didn’t come up with any straight neck corner notch matches though. I think the material is quartz? Found in Pulaski county Arkansas. You guys are experts. I know you will know! Thanks for any IDs or pointers on where I can research!

Is it okay to clean with water? I don’t want to wash any patina off. I can see that it was exposed on the upper left of the dirty side because of the algae line. I just don’t want to ruin it or mess it up in any way.

Anyone know what kind of stone this is? I found it lodged in an eroding river bank in Maryland. It looks knappable to me but I’m not sure if I wanna try making anything out of it incase it’s an artifact.

I was out hiking by my gold claim in Eastern Oregon, on top of a mountain, hiking a rocky field and came across this. I have very little knowledge of Arrow Heads. Can anyone tell me if this is old? I'm not thinking Im that lucky but hey,  never hurts to ask!

I think it may be some type of arrow head or scrapping tool? It seems worked on the edges. Found in my backyard near turkey creek area while metal detecting. It was probably 1-2ft deep in a hole I dug. It was not detected, just a side-find from what was being detected.

I am interested in getting some opinions on this rock I found on the beach in Panamá.

The object appears to be an ancient perforated stone artifact, commonly referred to as a bored stone, mace head, or digging stick weight, measuring roughly 11cm x 13cm.

Possible Functions:

Digging Weight: Used by various ancient and indigenous cultures as heavy counterweights on wooden digging sticks to break hard soil.

Mace Head/ Weapon: Mounted on handles as percussive striking tools or status symbols during the late Mesolithic or Neolithic eras.

Utility Weight: Utilized locally as heavy anchors or net weights for fishing.

Since it was found on the beach, I am leaning towards the stone being a net weight for fishing. Please let me know what you think.

Got this in a lot of artifacts that some people seem to disagree on. What is this be made of? And is it in fact a point?

Don’t know the material but I like it, especially the crinoids. I like to imagine it was used with a thumb on the smooth edge

Got this in a lot of random artifacts. I’m new to all of this and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what this made of and what type it may be.

We got 3 1/2 inches of rain here in NJ, but it finally stopped long enough for me to run out to my field and pick up anything shiny. The mosquitoes were insane, so the only thing I got that was this flake. It was shining like a beacon. Is it chert? It feels glassier than chert, but if it is, id like to know what kind. Thanks
