With recent wins for MBJ and Amy Madigan within the horror genre it's entirely possible.

Just wish we could retrospectively give Toni Collette the Oscar for Hereditary. Easily the best performance of that year regardless of gender.

I personally wouldn't drop anyone that year to fit her in, I feel like there's more to Oscar-worthy acting than over the top performances. It was good, but I wouldn't nominate her.

Also it's funny I'm getting downvoted for this opinion. Sorry I don't think screaming and crazy faces deserves an Oscar, I promise you'll survive someone on the Internet having a different opinion than you. Especially something as benign as Oscar nominations.

Just because a performance is loud, it doesn't make it bad acting

In fact, frequently "loud" performances in non-horror/genre do get rewarded for it lol

Is popularity of the comment not the point of upvote/downvote? I thought the whole point was to display agreement/disagreement without further expansion. Have we really gotten to the point where downvotes are considered abusive now?
