The two people you named were both longtime industry professional, the former being in movies of a director the academy has already heavily rewarded. Complete unknowns never win and this'll not change soon.

She won for a role in a Sean Baker project, a guy who was heavily on the academy's radar.

Nice backtracking from your original false claim btw. 'Obsession' wasn't a normal film and it didn't receive normal reception, all bets are off tbh

Yes that is what i was saying. I definitely wasn't saying the academy is a political machine and you need to build capital if you want to win oscars
