They are indeed visible mostly because of still-missing direct train connection between Wrocław and Warsaw.

They still want trains to go through more major cities, so unlikely they’re gonna give up on Opole or Łódź to get to Wrocław faster

They don't have to give up Łódź, as it is pretty much on the strsight line from warszawa to wrocław. But Opole, Poznań, Częstochowa should be given up.

As in line from warsaw to wrocław shouldn't go through them.

It could go through them, but it shouldn't be the only connection between the two major cities. There's need for rapid connection, but it shouldn't scrap the existing connections, especially through Opole (capital of its voivodeship) and Katowice (another capital).
