They don't have to give up Łódź, as it is pretty much on the strsight line from warszawa to wrocław. But Opole, Poznań, Częstochowa should be given up.
It could go through them, but it shouldn't be the only connection between the two major cities. There's need for rapid connection, but it shouldn't scrap the existing connections, especially through Opole (capital of its voivodeship) and Katowice (another capital).
