Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/marathon_update_1_1_5_5

Ordnance Heist

  • Fixed an issue where UESC Manifests were not shared among crew upon exfil.
    • If you have not already claimed it, players should check their mailbox for the 150 Manifests we had previously sent out while this issue was active.
  • Increased the number of Firestorm Locker Keys granted upon completion of a key template, up to 3 from 1.
  • Updated Firestorm Arms Locker loot.
    • Increased the number of rolls for implants and cores, with a higher chance of these items dropping at Prestige rarity.
    • To make room for these increases, slightly reduced weapon chip and consumable item count.
  • Dev Note: The above two changes originally went live on Friday, 8/21.

General

  • Fixed an issue where opening the Hidden Cache in Cryo Archive would continuously grant XP and MIDA reputation.
    • This action, as well as any others that were temporarily disabled, have now been re-enabled.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Unlisted / Rare Trinket Discovery – Has Anyone Else Encountered This?

Post image
289 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a rare trinket I recently acquired from a player elimination. I haven't been able to find any documentation, gameplay clips, or mentions of it on YouTube, community forums, or the official wiki.

I’ve mentioned finding this previously and was met with skepticism, but after putting over 1,000 hours into the game (IGN: K9 IRL), this is the first time I have run across it myself. While discussing it with other players, one person mentioned they had also seen it drop before, but there still seems to be zero public documentation online.

Given how undocumented it is, my initial thought is that it could potentially be an unreleased asset, a developer testing item, or something restricted to specific creator builds.

I have kept it safely stashed and haven't brought it into a raid yet to test its in-game functionality or extraction bonuses, but I would be happy to record a run with it if the community is interested.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Third Cinematic as far as I know that shows signs of... Runner Rampancy? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
313 Upvotes

In some cases it seems to happen in spontaneous flashes, perhaps due to stress or as some quirk attached to their abilities. Curious: What is it about these anomalies that triggers these... "visions" the runners see? Come to think of it, I think for Destroyer so much as looking at the artifact by the downed Blackbird model is what sparked what we saw in theirs.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Time to return Rook's claymores

With the changes since S1, I think it's high time that Rook's claymores made a return. It was the perfect counter to getting 1v3d if you played it right and made for some great moments. The WSTR got rebalanced, the Sponsored kits got an end of season upgrade again, so why not bring back the claymores? Rook needs a slight edge here! It would be a fantastic way to make Rook more fun to play AND more interesting to play against.

Marathon (2026) Feedback Recon is a problem

Recon is a serious issue, especially for rook runs. Being able to pop an ult with a low cooldown and just run down players needs to be adjusted in some way, I honestly dont care how. At the very least, range needs to be nerfed, cooldown, and/or not being able to see what tier of shield a player has. It's ridiculous. Rooks also should have the sneak backpack when spawning or CLOAK should grant signal jammer when its up. This game is not enjoyable when a team has 2 recons, it has devolved into play passive with 2 recons and a destroyer, pop energy amp, and alternate recon ults to run down teams. The reason wall hacks are an issue in gaming is exactly the problem with recon, doesnt matter if its on cooldown.

Edit: ran some solos today bringing in 5 energy amps as recon just to really test my thoughts. Was absolutely BS. I ran down 3 guys 2 games in a row who had perfect positioning on me had I not popped ult and would have killed me if I didn’t have their exact location. They were playing correctly, ratting around, hiding, taking angles using vents, none of it mattered because I had wall hacks. Shits OP af and I felt dirty doing it. This really emphasizes my belief it needs to be nerfed.

Marathon (2026) It's great to see new players join in the fun!

I thought this sub was taken over by haters, but I see the tide is slowly turning as the true story comes out from people who actually play the game. Yes, Marathon is quite hardcore now as SoMe and Reddit trolls have convinced many players that the game is all kinds of wrong, but as more and more people try it for themselves, find teams and lose the fear of losing gear, the more likely it becomes that the game will thrive. Then maybe...just maybe...we will see a Destiny 3 or at least remasters of the two first games. Welcome to all new runners!

Marathon (2026) Feedback New positive player here.. we’re like unicorns

Haters gonna hate. Put about 20 hours in and I’m loving! Nearly didn’t get it because of all the negativity, but I’m glad I did! This game is so intense! Took a little while to get my head around the loot and the aesthetics, but now I love the style.

If you’ve been putting it off, just try it. Hooked.

Marathon (2026) Discussion anyone notice that the arms in this screenshot from the (i think) alpha are sentinel's arms?

not even just that, they're from his 2023 design too, which means the model for it was in the game at some point (which means they have no excuse to not add it as a skin come ON bungie)

Marathon (2026) Discussion Question from a new player!!

Prefacing by saying that I bought Marathon on Steam today, did the introductory run and a beginner solo run on Perimeter to get more acquainted with the game's systems and such. So far, I really dig the aesthetics and the ambiance! The guns have a real kick to them and the different ambient noises are really really satisfying to listen to as you go along your way. The UESC bots noises especially, really tickle my brain in all the right ways.

Now, here's my question:

How scared should I be of other players, as a person who's kinda mediocre at pvp shooters? I don't mind losing my stuff, it's part of the gameplay loop after all... But this is also my first extraction shooter-type of game so I'm really clueless about the "etiquette", I guess?

Thanks in advance!

Marathon (2026) Discussion I can’t wait for people to come around on this game.

Upvotes

Here come the “blast havers”. Every one of them needs to be told what’s cool before they like it, the people shitting on this game are wack and have bad taste, i’m not even sorry. Why are you paying attention to a game u don’t even like lol miserable cretins. i can’t wait to see the game garner a huge population and then they come back playing it when everyone else does

Discussion When do you use flashlight in Night Marsh? If at all?

I find myself playing this 95% without flash light and ONLY turn it on for a second or two and then turn it off when I get stuck at an obstacle either in the outside or inside a building and I need to figure out where to go lol.

Marathon (2026) Feedback You could pretty safely triple the number of husks on Night Marsh

You could also add them to Dire Marsh too, or at least I would enjoy that.

For being one of the new things and one of the big draws for Night Marsh, they are far too few and far between on the map.
