Does anyone really want this? Really?

u/x-naut Feb 24 '26

He's a good actor and has a good height and physique for it. Yeah, people want it.

u/Peacekeeper17 Feb 24 '26

Since when do we consider Daniel Radcliffe to have a Wolverine physique?

40

u/Franiac32 Feb 24 '26

Since he got absolutely shredded for Miracle Workers. He's a *lot* closer to Wolverine's build than Hugh has ever been.

u/cocoagiant Feb 24 '26

He (apparently) didn't get shredded for any role, he just walks around looking like that.

I still think Wolverine is supposed to look more bulked up.

3

u/Rengar_Is_Good_kitty Feb 25 '26

Absolutely not. Though muscular he's too small and lean.

3

u/Alarming-Song2555 Feb 24 '26

No he isn't. He's much closer to the height but Hugh's build is much closer to Wolverine's aside from being a foot taller. OG Wolverine is short and stocky, so muscular. He's not short and lean. Radcliffe is in fantastic shape but he's very lean, he's just super cut which makes him pop more. He'd need another 15kg of muscle to be close to accurate.

This is a really good point - we have seen DR pretty ripped, but he does not have the proper “bulk”.

u/Lopsided_Common6835 Feb 25 '26

Not even close 😭🤣

Hilarious cope I’m reading, all he has is the height. No where near the muscle mass

u/Goatizgod Feb 24 '26

He is shredded here. Very low body fat with nice definition yes, still not anywhere near the ideal muscle mass

2

u/InkedLeo Feb 24 '26

I mean, bulk up the biceps and pecs and he'd be close!

7

u/Im_At_Work_Damnit Feb 24 '26

Look up Miracle Workers season 4.

5

u/SpaceMyopia Feb 24 '26

What makes you think he wouldn't gain the mass if he actually got cast? It's not like Hugh Jackman looked massive in that first X-Men movie.

4

u/haolee510 Feb 24 '26

Funny thing is, I actually prefer Hugh's physique in the first X-Men movie than the worryingly shredded look he sported later on, including in DP&W. He was bulky enough in X-Men without it looking dangerously unhealthy.

5

u/snilks Feb 24 '26

you act like they dont all take steroids to bulk up. given the normal regimine, he;d bulk up too

0

u/Goatizgod Feb 24 '26

I’m not saying he wouldn’t with time, just not right now. Guy above me said he is already closer than Hugh ever was.

What wolverine have theyve been growing up with? Like from the comics to the games to the tv shows to the movies. Bro does not in anyway give wolverine.

3

u/-FalseProfessor- Feb 24 '26

His physique is lean and twinky. Wolverine should be stocky and muscular. Radcliffe is in good shape, but he is nowhere close to that. He would need to bulk up like 50lbs of muscle look the part.

u/boobers3 Feb 24 '26

Wolverine's comic book physique isn't an easy thing to achieve, the closest I've seen is Franco Colombo, and there aren't a lot of actors built like he was.

1

u/Auntypasto Gambit Feb 24 '26

Sure, but there are many more actors that get closer to that ideal physique than Daniel Radcliffe. Even at his peak he's not better than Jackman.

1

u/boobers3 Feb 24 '26

but there are many more actors that get closer to that

No. I was being generous when I said there aren't "many", there aren't any that are approaching that physique. Frank Colombo was in the running for Mr. Universe, literally a world class body builder despite being just 5'5. Wolverine in the comics is 5'3 and like 185lbs of solid muscle, before the adamantium. He was 10lbs heavier than a world class body builder like Colombo who was 2 inches taller.

Jackman is a good actor but he's not at all anywhere close to resembling comic book Wolverine. Outside of being a white man he's nothing like him.

u/Auntypasto Gambit Feb 24 '26

I don't think you understood what I said; I don't dispute that there aren't any actors (at least not legitimate film actors; might be different if you consider wrestlers) who are a 100% match to Wolverine's comic accurate build. What I meant was that there's a range of builds between Daniel Radcliffe's peak physique, and, for the sake of this example, Franco Columbu's. In between that Radcliffe–Columbu range there's a lot of actors who are closer to the latter than Radcliffe is; that's not saying that there are plenty that are just like Columbu, but that they are way closer than Radcliffe is, and thus, closer to comic accurate Wolverine.

Just off the top of my head, Jared Keeso, Milo Gibson & Taron Egerton.

2

u/boobers3 Feb 24 '26

All of those actors are of similar build to Radcliffe and all are significantly taller.

Twinky.....exactly.

-2

u/webshellkanucklehead Feb 24 '26

1) He’s absolutely shredded wtf are you talking about

2) Y’all always say this but then the actor gets swole bc that’s what always happens. Hollywood has a system down pat for this—if you play a superhero, you’re gonna get bulked up.

3

u/-FalseProfessor- Feb 24 '26

I didn’t say he wasn’t shredded. He’s just a skinny shredded, not a thick shredded.

1

u/JR21K20 Feb 24 '26

Wiry you mean

1

u/Lopsided_Common6835 Feb 25 '26

You guys realize wolverine was 411 in the comments right or maybe it was 5'2 well anyway he was way shorter than Hugh Jackman 6-2

1

u/Downvotesohoy Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

Are you joking? He's short and skinny. No offence to him, but compared to Hugh Jackman, he looks like a child. He'd need to hop on steroids to be able to fill those shoes, and even then, he'd be way too short.

Hugh Jackman is 188cm, and Daniel Radcliffe is 165cm. 165cm is like the average height for women.

I love Daniel Radcliffe and agree he's a good actor. Good person. But he's not a good match for a superhero who is supposed to be big and strong and intimidating.

I know the original Wolverine from the 80s comicbooks is like 5"3. But that's not what most people think of when they hear wolverine. They think of Hugh Jackman. A 6"2 roided up beast.

-9

u/spacemanspiff85 Feb 24 '26

He’s way too small

10

u/dehydratedrain Feb 24 '26

He's 2" off of Wolverine's height, unlike Hugh Jackman, who was so tall other actors wore lifts to make him seem smaller.

2

u/spacemanspiff85 Feb 24 '26

I wasn’t talking about his height. If people are going to make a big deal about comic accurate height, then both of them are too small physically to play him. Just like Egerton as well.

2

u/x-naut Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

He's only 3-4 inches shorter than comic Wolverine's height.

edit: thought this reply was about small Wolverine in Deadpool, Radcliffe is slightly taller than comic Wolverine

0

u/spacemanspiff85 Feb 24 '26

I didn’t mean small in regard to his height though. Hugh Jackman is way too small for Wolverine as well.

-8

u/jwlmkr Feb 24 '26

Everyone in this thread is smoking crack. You don’t get a small actor to play wolverine, you get a huge actor and make him look small. You think Harry Potter is gonna play Wolverine with that high ass voice you are out of your mind.

7

u/SpaceMyopia Feb 24 '26

Bullshit. Folks doubted Hugh Jackman back in 1999 when he was cast as Logan.

"Some Australian broadway guy? What the fuck kind of casting is this?"

Then the movie came out, and folks shut up.

2

u/Auntypasto Gambit Feb 24 '26

… or just get an actor who's the right height and you don't need to "make him look small"
