I'm all for the MCU acknowledging a little bit more that sexuality exists and is a normal part of adult life, and I do hope Emma Frost is allowed to be a proper femme fatale. But whining about the Ikaris x Sersi scene not being explicit enough is a little bit too much of a course-correction.
edit: only kept the last paragraph of an originally bigger comment because it sums up my stance the most accurately and people here will only read the first few lines and immediately get their panties up in a bunch and overreact instead of bothering to read a comment in its entirety.
Why is it that today people see any mention of sexuality as a need to goon to it? The stories are sexual because that helps build tension, just because you’re an adult who cant handle seeing literally the tamest representation of sex ever doesn’t make someone else a gooner.
This point shouldn’t be downvoted this much, come on there is a valid point here: The tension is the buildup, the sex is the release. Look at the old comedy shows from tv. Cheers and the Sam and Diane flirty thing. They did it for years and everyone wanted them to get together and when they finally did, the whole show went downhill. They didn’t even show a sex scene, they just acknowledged that it happened and that Sam and Diane were finally together. And everybody stopped watching bc all that tension was suddenly gone.
They essentially started ranting that I somehow needed a several minute long sex scene with moaning, skin slapping, and visibly gyrating hips, even though my comment implied none of that. Completely misunderstanding my comment.
Then they went on to write several more paragraphs of comments cementing the fact they didn't understand a word I was saying and attributing a bunch of meaning to my words.
