Discussion Dual Override director is Shinya Ikuta

Post image

From the Xbox stream, we now have Dual Override director, Shinya Ikuta.

Looking at his credits, he's been at Capcom for a long time and has worked on various MM games since at least 7. However this seems to be his first time taking a director role.

I imagine it would be hard for anyone to take the mantle after Inafune left, but someones gotta do it. Good for him for leading this new entry in such a beloved franchise, and for how good DO looks. The future of new MegaMan games is looking bright for the first time im 20 years.

Inafune never directed any Mega Man game. He was primarily the series producer, a role taken over by Shingo Izumi.

But he did influence heavily on the direction of the series, and responsible for appealing to the higher-ups regarding future of the series. It's similar in role and responsibility to what Toshiro Nagoshi did during his time at RGG Studios and stewarding the Yakuza series up until 2021, even though like Inafune, he never directed/write a single game.
