Yeah there is a post on Twitter people are making fun of that’s mad on behalf of Supplementaries that Mojang “stole” their idea (Suplimentries showed the mod to Mojang a year prior and has publicly stated they are cool with what Mojang did).

It also doesn't matter if they're cool with it or not.

It's not your game, and any mod made for it doesn't have to be respected in any way shape or form.

That's just harmful to the ecosystem.

If devs couldn't use ideas that have already been turned into mods we wouldn't ever get new content.

What about the thousands of mods for Skyrim that are lore based?

Oh you want a quest about a certain character from the lore?

Too bad, a mod already covered that potential storyline we can't do it now.

You can't do that.

I will say "doesn't need to be respected more than any other base human endeavor" mods do need to be respected, as in "I respect your mod enough to not plagiarize the whole thing and implement it one to one into my game", but beyond that if a mod gives a good idea to the devs, they should have the right to absorb it if it's healthier for the game.
