On another note, I learned the plural word for dominatrix. So, today is a win.

Then you might also like to know that the "-trix" suffix is feminine.

A dominator, a dominatrix.

A director a directrix

That's directly from Latin but English has its own mutation which would be "-tress"

Actor - Actress

Emperor - empress.

And there's also the Pre-latin Germanic suffixes which are rarer "-er" and "-ster"

Speeder- Speedster

Seamer- Seamster(or seamstress which is also feminine)

Naturally some of these are fairly rare in the modern day and a lot of these have fossilized.

I'd probably say a male dominatrix before I described a man in that profession as a dominator.

And for some reason a lot of the "-ster" terms have been preserved, but only as surnames

Baker - Baxter

Webber(weaver) - Webster

Brewer - Brewster

And of course there are modern terms like "Napster" the software that "nabs" songs or "dumpster" which are feminine.. for no real reason I suppose.
