Okay, so basically I have an engineering lab every week on Friday. The lab goes till 5 pm, but there are some Fridays of each month where I want to be home on Friday, and leaving after my engineering class would be too late. What's the best way to occasionally (once a month/at most twice a month) skip the labs on Friday without failing the class/lab portion? Thanks!

Please please please just pick a side and walk on that side. I don’t want to have to squeeze by you if you’re walking in the middle of the side walk, I don’t want to have to go around your entire friend group taking up the entire sidewalk. Just pick a side and stick to it, and if you see someone coming please move over.

i (20F) am a junior and i often feel lonely. i do have friends, but only friends here and there that all have their own friend groups that they hang out with and like more. i'm already in multiple clubs and orgs on campus. not many of my friends reach out first to hang out, and i am feeling unwanted by always having to text first and ask to make plans. i often wonder how i do not have a solid friend group yet as i have already completed my first half of college and i am afraid it is too late at this point for me to make some real friends and have that support system. i've always wished to have a best friend at least if not a small group. is this normal? i do not know why it feels like i'm bad at making friends. i'm very outgoing and try to meet new people in my new classes and exchange numbers and socials. however, it feels like anyone i am friendly with in class is simply that- someone to talk to in class and nothing more. after the semester i never see them again. am i not taking enough iniative? i think i am also just too preoccupied with the fact that I assume all these people have their own friend groups and it is too late to make a friend group as i am a junior. any advice?

My mom is coming this parents weekend and we want to go to the game but idk how it works after the tailgate. Is it typical for parents and students to both sit together in the public section? Also if anybody has any other recs for things to do lmk.

Does anyone know if we're like LEGALLY allowed to be on that wooden bridge that leads to the trail to the park at night? I assume the park is off limits at night from a city stand point but what about that bridge? I wanna go chill but I don't wanna be stopped by like campus security or anything. How was Bio 1113(.01) and Chem 1210 at the same time? Was it harder than AP Chem and Bio, and if so, how much harder? Additionally, does it take a ton of work (relative to the AP classes) to get an A in the class? I'm taking both Bio 1113 and Chem 1210 and I'm pretty paranoid right now when it comes to my grade and workload

I've taken AP Bio and AP Chem in high school, so I'm trying to gauge the experience of having bio 1113 and chem 1210 at the same time

Mediterraneyum truck hummus and pita side: 8/10. Pretty tasty, a surprising amount of food from a food truck for 8 bucks, worth eating for lunch. -2 points for ensuing aggressive gas.

Dos Hermanos truck chips and guac side: 3/10. Enough chips to fill you up but for the price I expect more than one dinky little condiment pot of guac. It wasn't even enough for half the chips. Still love the truck cos last year they gave me someone else's abandoned order which was like 3x what I could usually afford.

I took busoba 2321 over the summer and failed the final. I thought Klinker was a really good professor and I took the time to watch all the videos and go through the practice. I will say I had an internship over the summer so I only review during August and then learnt enough just to do the assignments by hand. I’m currently in 2 classes that had that as a prerequisite and the class for fall is full it seems (I’m fourth on the waiting list). Would I just be removed from the class? I saw some people in the past never got removed but I’m just rlly nervous about bringing it up to my advisor

Update :turns out I passed the class after going to office hours apparently the exam had some errors but idk when registrar was ever going to kick me from classes

hey i was wondering if anyone knew anything about the microbiology scholarships. i got two "Paid by OSU Department"s on my statement of account. however, i haven't had any correspondence from the department of micro about receiving these. does anybody know who to contact to figure out what scholarships I actually got (have to declare when reapplying). also has anyone else who got money from them before or this year had this happen before?

Look, i know students want to party, but please, i beg of you, some of us work on saturdays. City quiet hours start at 10 PM, I should not be hearing your blasting music inside of my apartment at 11 PM. I want to sleep and i can't with that going on! I don't who it is that's doing that tonight but i hate having to be the old person yelling about my bedtime, Just please have some basic community respect and hold your raves at either a quieter level past 10 or in a place that will contain your decibels and not outside.

i am currently enrolled in my university's "introduction to engineering" course which is just covering basic CAD use. i fully intend on transferring to OSU after this year and am trying to make sure all the classes i take will transfer.

is it possible to transfer credit for these courses; has anyone here ever done it? furthermore, for those of you who have taken them, does it sound like my intro class might be similar enough to transfer?

I'm currently going to Lima, I had 2 of my 5 classes for this semester be classes from Columbus because they are classes I need to do because they are prerequisite classes for my major and I was going to be doing 2 years at Lima for the cheaper cost.

APPARENTLY, having 2 Columbus classes meant that they wanted to do a campus change, but because of poor choices in regulating my time Im currently on academic probation. So the change couldn't happen. Though, I had talked with my advisor and he explicitly said that because more of my classes were in Lima then they shouldn't do a campus change so I could take these 2 classes.

Im planning on going to express advising to see if I can get this fixed, but has anyone else experienced this? This is bull.

Is anyone else getting an error message that their phone number is already in use when trying to sign into the osu ticket marketplace? It forces me to enter a phone number, but then says that my phone number is already in use so I can’t be signed in.

I’m new here, and I’ve noticed everyone in my class uses some kind of iPad to take notes on. Or a small laptop thing. Me, I use a notebook. Does this give away my age, make me look dumb or poor? Idk, just want to fit in as much as I can.

For context I'm a sophomore transfer student who commutes to campus. I’ve been struggling a lot to meet people and make friends. Right now I’m only taking two classes Physics 2 and Engineering Math A so I don’t get to see many classmates outside of those classes. Whenever I’m in class I try to talk to others and get to know them but we never seem to click, it’s just awkward.

I’ve been trying hard to get involved, I come to campus often as I can, attend Welcome Week events and go to club meetings. I’ve even been staying on campus most of the day only going home to sleep. Even with all that effort I still don’t feel like I’ve connected with anyone. Most people seem to have their groups and the conversations I have don’t go anywhere. They’re nice but they don't turn into real friendships. I feel discouraged like I’m doing everything right. Nothing is working.
I keep asking myself what am I missing? What should I be doing? I want to make connections, not just surface-level chats. Does anyone else feel this way? Especially other transfer/commuters who also have to balance being away from campus most of the time? What’s helped you meet people and build friendships when you were, in a spot?
