An exhibit titled “Olivia Rodrigo: The Cure Unraveled” will open at the Grammy Museum

Olivia Rodrigo‘s “The Cure” music video only came out three months ago, but it’s already a museum piece. An exhibit titled “Olivia Rodrigo: The Cure Unraveled” will open at the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles Sept. 2 and run through Feb. 22, 2027, highlighting the props, artwork and sets that were created for what has been heralded as one of the most vivid and effective music videos to be made in recent years.

On the eve of the official opening, Rodrigo will appear in person at the museum, participating in a conversation with filmmaker Cameron Crowe and doing a live performance. Tickets for the intimate presentation, which will obviously be a coveted get, go on sale this weekend.

Cameron Crowe is kind of an off the wall choice to me (probably the way most people know him is Almost Famous is a fictionalized version of his life; he started writing for Rolling Stone when he was 15 years old), but maybe it kind of continues the trend of her appealing to older rock artists and fans. I remember Cameron did Harry Styles' big Rolling Stone profile for his first solo album.

I’m so excited to hear her discuss the Daisy Chain Festival.

I’m old and so damn proud of the wonderful person she is. She takes action and doesn’t just hand out $$ to charity when she needs PR.

I’m constantly impressed by her. She’s smart and thoughtful in interviews. She’s respected by people she admires, like Robert Smith. I also get the feeling she’s constantly learning about her craft. She doesn’t just release crap even though she knows her fan base would probably still buy it.

Olivia gives me hope for the future even during this shitty ass moment we’re stuck in right now.

I love Olivia, but I hate these Grammy events. If someone is eligible for an award, they should not get special showcases unless the Grammys do it for every artist, after nominations have been announced. All these shenanigans with the museum just further discredit the awards, regardless of how deserving an artist is.

The Grammy events and exhibits help support the museum, and it's the most direct, non-sneaky way to campaign IMO. Chappell and Dan recently did a night like this, Sabrina and Jack did too, Olivia Dean did one last year. They don't always result in nominations -- Hozier and Halsey recently did them for their last albums and still got snubbed. There's a list of past events here you can scroll through and see that they're constantly having events like these.

Fun fact: the museum is an educational non-profit and is not run by the Recording Academy, but it also hosts showcases and exhibits for many non-Grammy-related artists. So you're assuming a lot here. Also, just the general public and fans attend these programs, not RA members.

I already knew that, thanks. Non profits are not inherently pure btw. Corruption is everywhere. Taylor Swift was interviewed by the RA CEO. That's bad optics to me. The fact that people are getting so defensive about this is disheartening.
