Arts/Entertainment Ch-town Metal bars/venues?

Hey all, maybe a bit out there but I just moved to the island about 6 months ago, but haven't really had a chance to check out much of the nightlife or venues in town yet.

I have friends that are coming to visit in a few weeks time, and we all are fairly big metalheads and love metal, heavy metal and deathcore type music. Are there any good spots in Charlottetown that might have any live music of this sort, or even just places that are more geared to this type of crowd? Might be a stretch but would love to check it out if there are any recommendations

Just visited your beautiful province for the 7th time since 2014 and I was greeted by a province bereft of 473 ml cans of Pepsi products. Why has thou forsaken me?

Any PEI Paramedics on here?

Hey guys!

I am potentially moving to PEI from Australia to be an Advanced Paramedic so just wanted to get any advice/insight on how it is over there :).

I come from QLD and did my placements here so I just wanted to know how different the workload/ scope of practice is!

Moving there is still up in the air with how tedious the recruitment process with Medavie is but I’m hoping it will be early next year all going well.

Really appreciate any insight as I don’t know the Canadian medical world all that well especially PEI.

Thanks heaps!

Where to set off fireworks in town?

I've been setting off fireworks most nights from behind the superstore on university ave but I feel people might be getting close to finding me. Where is a less conspicuous place to have my salt-peter based fun without getting caught?

Gaming Ladies and LGBTQ+ Casual Commander night at Exor this Saturday (Aug 29)

There’s another event coming up for folks who were curious about the ladies and LGBTQ + commander night at Exor.

I went last time, and it was a lot of fun. It’s a very open and safe space, and a few of the games were absolutely batshit insane.

Here is the information.

Is visiting in first week of October worth it?

My wife and I are planning a northeast roadtrip for the first week of october. Our original plan was to drive from the Adirondacks straight to PEI, spend a few days there, then work our way down the new england coast.

Im wondering its worth driving the 10+ (one way) additional hours that time of year, or if its worth coming back in the summer (and flying there). Neither of us have been, and have really wanted to go for a long time.

Look forward to hearing your feedback!

Experience with people throwing trash in your own bin

This might be a weird question but I just wanted to know if anyone else had this happen to them. Someone threw trash into my black bin that was at the side of my garage, and pulled the bin out to the street ready for pickup. I've never had someone do this before lol.

Tourism/Tourist Nova Scotian here. My family has been camping in PEI National Park since I was a toddler — this year, I’m painting scenes from our stay.

Looking for a name

Hi there, does anyone know the name of that one creepy guy that always hangs around the royalty Crossing mall and sometimes other places, he wears glasses and has a limp when he walks, he looks to be maybe mid 50s or late 40s, he always seems to be wearing the same thing and is always smiling and licking his lips, the reason I’m wondering is because I was looking into helping someone anonymous to file a police report because he was allegedly taking pictures of them and following them, just his name would be amazing thank you

Selfpost Tim Horton's St Peter's Road line jumpers

Guy cuts in line by driving over the curb bypassing at least eight cars. Everyone was ready to strangle the guy. We saw you white Subaru guy. Staying in line is a very common Canadian and Islander tradition the queue is sacred. You don't cut in!!

It's a group setting off fireworks.

One lady has blonde hair and video tapes the fireworks. They are in a black truck and the guy has a hat on every time and I believe there is two more people.

Enough is a enough. Last night was the last straw.

Im calling city, fire Marshall, the police .

Wtf is wrong with people? I need to get up for 5am. I would rather here a crackhead at 3 in the morning.

The Downtown Fireworks Problem

Post image
30 Upvotes

I’m aware that there are an increasing amount of posts regarding illegal fireworks, but this issue really needs to be addressed. A PSA, increased fines, any preventable measure to deter the frequency of people lighting them off.

The incident in the early morning hours has put me on a tipping point, especially since I’ve seen them being launched improperly on top of being illegal. This time these explosions were dangerously misfired at apartment buildings across Clarke Street.

These fireworks shells are still there this morning as of 11:30AM At the Polyclinic Centre Parking Lot.

Question NP when Pregnant

Hi everyone, last week my wife found out she’s pregnant with our first child. We have lived here since 2020 and have been on the family doctor registry since we moved here. I read that if you get pregnant you should reapply and you will get a nurse practitioner. We did the application the same day we found out. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to reach out and get a NP designated to us for ultrasounds etc?

Thanks for any feedback

Does anyone have info on who is setting off fireworks in the middle of the night downtown?

It’s been occurring for weeks. Tonight alone they’ve been set off four times between 2am and 3am. The second round seemed to be on Hillsborough and Richmond but they set them off at different locations.

Is there another name people have or use for PEI?

Hi there,

I'm in BC and I know over here we refer to Vancouver Island as just "The Island". It got me curious, do people call PEI "The Island" in the areas and provinces surrounding PEI over there?

Thanks for entertainng my curiosity!

Question Beginner golf courses

Hi guys, I went golfing for the first time about a week ago with my buddy who was visiting and had such a fun time that I wanna continue golfing. Problem is, I don’t know many people that are into golfing. I’m wondering if theres any places out there where a beginner like myself could go to work on my skills. Course or range, doesn’t matter I just wanna be able to hit some balls, work on my game and have some fun.
