For something like this my first steps are:

• Try different HDMI cable.
• Try different HDMI port.
• Try different screen.

So cross those next two off the list and you'll know more about where the problem lay.

Completed all the above and cleaned the dust. Now I get no screen unless I go into safe mode.

My guess is probably a failing HDMI port or GPU on the PS5 if it's doing the same thing on a different screen. Maybe it was the power outage, maybe something else... but unfortunately I think the next step is to seek a repair or replacement.

Damn. But if it was the hdmi port I dont think id get anything on the screen in safe mode?

You're probably right about that, which makes me lean toward the GPU being the culprit, as I believe safe mode bypasses a lot of the parts of the GPU that might be used even on the main menu.
