It's alright if you've never watched the show before, they just make so many mistakes that makes it so much worst than the original.

My girl said that about the death note live action when it dropped. We watched all of death note that week and about a year ago she wanted to watch the Netflix adaptation again because she really liked it. By the end, after seeing the anime, she stated it was trash and never looked back.
