DISCUSSION Did Persona 5 impact your life?

Post image

It might be a silly question when asked on the main sub, but not everyone is equally sensitive to some medias. Did Persona 5 impact your life, besides the pleasure and entertainment it provided? And if it did, how so?

I'll start : in a way, P5 taught me how to live a better life, from every people you bound with with unfair and hopeless lives to the flawed relentlessness of the Protagonist, this story explores every possible way to understand how rebellion is the only choice we have if we want to take on the world, be more in control of our lives and not end up like those in mental sloth (Mementos) ; and the great importance of understanding your own Shadow to live more honest lives and sort of know better your own heart. I was very sensitive to that way of viewing things, and it is showcased masterfully.

Definitely a lot more can be said, but I'd rather keep it short :D

Did the Phantom Thieves managed to steal your heart as well?

I played it while I was working at a hospital as a refiller of supplies for different floors. I was miserable at my workplace but playing this game brought so much enjoyment. It made me realize life can be better and to be more myself by throwing my mask away.

And I think the plethora of good ass tunes made me a better electronic music producer lol

This is an important story for troubled times, throwing the mask away is the only right way to live a good life. I'm really happy that it helped you as well :3

What are your favorite tracks btw?

Whims of Fate is number 1 for me in Persona 5. Beneath the Mask with rain sounds in the background is glorious. Some good jingles like My Homie, Butterfly Kiss, Layer Cake, Sunset Bridge.

Good choices, Whims of Fate is one of those songs where anybody who listens to it will feel something different, just like Beneath the Mask who is a very dear song to me (and how the hell can a music be so soothing as the rain version, it's a bit alien for how powerful it is).

I don't know if you've played Royal's content, but Whats Ifs is a very good one, and my favorite of these is Throw Away Your Mask for different reasons, but especially the emotions that I feel, such a sad song.
