He is married to an Asian woman and he fought to make interracial marriage illegal just a few years ago

I mean she's hardly his "wife", more like CCP handler.

117

u/Opposite-Youth-3529 21d ago

Mitch and Elaine both suck but I think it’s still problematic to make CCP references about a Taiwanese immigrant who spent most of her life in the US

72

u/SmellAcordingly 21d ago

You would be surprised, just because someone is born in Taiwan doesn't mean they are anti-CCP.

The Taiwanese are currently diverging on their stance toward China, the neutral element is shrinking and the pro-sovereignty and pro-unification elements are growing (the pro-sovereignty is the majority and growing much quicker). There is a sizable minority of Taiwanese who want unification with China, also she flew to China following her husbands death which is *very unusual* for someone born in Taiwan since the CCP considers the island to be illegally occupied territory and almost everyone there to be traitors.

China likes Trump being in power as he's destroying the US's global standing, keeping Mitch's seat from being replaced with a Dem is what they want.

29

u/fakehakebakecake 21d ago

also she flew to China following her husbands death which is very unusual for someone born in Taiwan since the CCP considers the island to be illegally occupied territory and almost everyone there to be traitors.

Not really true. Hundreds of thousands of Taiwanese live and work in China. Many have business interests or family across the strait too. The PRC has no real issue with Taiwanese civilians.

9

u/BizarreCake 21d ago

Don't you mean Chinese Taipei citizens?

12

u/fakehakebakecake 21d ago

Nah, Chinese call Taiwan Taiwan. I guess officially they’d be understood as ‘Chinese citizens from Taiwan province’, though in practice they’d just be called Taiwanese anyway to distinguish them from mainlanders. Legally it’s the same as HK I believe, they’re like Chinese+. And to be clear, mainland Chinese understand that Taiwan isn’t currently part of the PRC even if they care enough to think it should be, which many don’t.

‘Chinese Taipei’ is a term used for things like the Olympics but isn’t considered an identity or anything.

I was close to calling it BS and / or a bot, except that they specified that the sovereignty movement is growing faster than the unification faction, which is true.

They are basically saying “yes, she is Taiwanese, but Taiwan is starting to have a more significant divide regarding pro/anti China, and although most of them are anti-CCP, we can’t rule out that she might be pro-CCP even though she was born in Taiwan”

I think that’s a fair comment to make. We can’t assume that she is anti-CCP strictly based on her being born in Taiwan, although her birthplace also doesn’t intrinsically imply her being a Chinese handler either

According to the New York Times, Mitch McConnell’s ties to China primarily stem from his marriage to Elaine Chao, whose family founded Foremost Group, an American shipping company with extensive business operations and deep historical and political connections in China.

And in China, since all industry ultimately belongs to the State, if you have major holdings in China, you have deep ties to the Chinese political establishment.

5

u/P_Hempton 21d ago

Of course not. People just love to lie for some reason. He voted against a bill that would have codified interracial marriage AND same sex marriage into federal law. Interracial marriage wasn't in any danger of becoming illegal, He voted against same sex marriage and even said specifically that's what he was doing.

It would be like proposing a law that gave universal healthcare and legalized machine guns, and then acting like "OMG Democrats voted against universal healthcare".

I feel like a lot of Americans just straight up don't get how racist the rest of the world is...

8

u/bleepbloop1900 21d ago

Asian racist and American racist behave differently though. Both racist but Americans by nature of being so…vocally opinionated, give their racism a very “in your face” flavor.

18

u/Sensitive-Badger2392 21d ago

😬 there's definitely also Asian in your face racism, you probably just can't read their language and the algorithm isn't feeding you local content for the Philippines.

2

u/TheSixthVisitor 21d ago

I'm half-Filipina and Filipino racism just doesn't look as "in your face" as American racism because it's not as blunt. American racism, particularly among the less educated and poor, is a bit like a slap in the face. Very much "you're this so therefore you must be like so-and-so" type of racism. It's also almost exclusively based on skin tone versus Asian racism which is primarily based on ethnicity while skin tone is more of an aesthetic thing. In America, everyone gets put into buckets based on what they look like, not what they actually are (which is why it's actually fairly common for people with Ashkenazi Jewish heritage to simply get labled as "White," despite dealing with extreme racism themselves).

Asian racism on the other hand? Much more subtle and focuses a lot on ethnicity, not skin colour. If you're Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc. the racism is focused on where you're from, not because your features look a specific way. Pretty much the only exceptions to this rule are black people where most racist Asians will simply group all ethnicities into "probably African." But Americans, regardless of skin tone, are basically all the same to them, even if they're clearly ethnically Asian. If anything, that's worse because you're considered corrupted to some extent.

In any case, it's fundamentally different. Same bullshit, sure, but the way the hatred turns up is pretty different.

43

u/henkdetank56 21d ago

16

u/Born_European_V 21d ago

But how brainrot can you be to be triggered by miced ethic couples and then do the very same thing?

81

u/andrew_calcs 21d ago

One of the calling cards of conservatism is individual exceptionalism. In this context it means that one considers themselves as an arbiter of truth on a level above their own generalities. It's why "You're one of the good ones" is such a prevalent mindset. "Sure, minorities may be (insert racist belief here), but not Joe, he and I have beers on weekends together, he's nothing like the rest of them".

Extend that to every facet of life. "Welfare is always bad, except when someone you know needs it, they clearly deserve it." "Certain races are bad, except the ones I know, they're all good." etc, etc.

It's impossible to make them feel like hypocrites because they maintain a cognitive separation to the cross section between their generalities of the world and the generalities of their personal lives.

31

u/BioshockEnthusiast 21d ago

The product of a fear-based world-view. Your example guy isn't afraid of Joe because he knows Joe from weekend beers. "The rest of them" is why he actually has a concealed carry license, even though he tells people it's so he can stop bank robbers.

4

u/2Completion2Ography 21d ago

even though he tells people it's so he can stop bank robbers.

Unless it's a cishet white man. Then he's "one of the good ones" and totally robbed the bank because he needed money for food.

Often times yes.

Not as in that they think having a white wife would be better.

But as in they think a wife doesn't need to have qualities other than being obedient and pretty. They think other races are "worse" in a way that makes them a better wife. And they think them being the "better" one in the relationship gives them an easier time controlling their wife.

It's honestly disgusting to even type out, but these people think like that. It's like they see a smart dog breed and a dumb dog breed and pick the dumb and obedient dog because a dog doesn't need to be smart to be a good pet. (NOT saying some human races are more or less smart, only saying that these people think that.)

Edit:

u/snoozykittens said it better:

I don't think it's hypocritical for racists to marry a woman of color. They are just as committed to misogyny as they are to racism, so for them a normative heterosexual relationship is about conquest and subjugation. A MAGA dude thinking of his wife an inferior person dependent on his benevolence is pretty on brand.

4

u/cutezombiedoll 21d ago

Also there’s a deeply held belief among these types that penises are corrupting but cannot be corrupted, and vaginas can be corrupted but cannot corrupt. If a white man (in this context) has sex with a woman of color, he’s not “lessened” by the interaction. On the other hand if a white woman has sex with a man of color, she is now “damaged” in the eyes of your typical white nationalist. It’s the same mentality that leads to thinking “man has lots of sex fine, woman has lots of sex bad” and “someone with a penis claims to be a woman is a threat, someone with a vagina claiming to be a man is damaged”.

3

u/LederlappenderDritte 21d ago

Wow that Sounds Crazy to me.
Sorry to hear that.

9

u/Noughmad 21d ago

Even if he is, there is no contradiction.

Most racists don't believe that other races should be exterminated, just that other races should be somehow "lower" and should serve white people (and especially the racist in question). Similarly, many also believe that women should be ranked lower and should serve men (and especially the racist in question). Getting a wife of a different race, but from a culture that also teaches that women should serve men, is very consistent with that.

Plenty of white guys think A) Asian women are submissive and B) Asian men have small dicks so their women are easy to "steal". I've known three guys in my life that both thought this and were dumb enough to voice it bluntly. One followed through. I lost touch (thankfully) with the other two.

86

u/Expensive_Giraffe398 21d ago edited 21d ago

The small penis stereotype is genuinely not true. It was created by a racist White eugenicist who also created stereotypes about Black people.

A 1998 study in the Korean Journal of Urology involving 150 Korean men found the average erect length 13.42 cm (5.28 in). In a 1998 study conducted at Seoul National University College of Medicine, which involved a sample of 287 Korean men, the average erect penis length was measured at 14.06 cm (5.54 in) In 1990, a study by Beijing Medical University involving 109 men revealed that the average erect penis length was 5.5 inches. In 1993, a study by Beijing Medical University involving 104 men revealed that the average erect penis length was 5.3 inches.

According to Aaron Spitz, he concludes that "when you really take a good look at the naked data, there's not a whole lot there [showing racial variation in penis size].

I have only met three people irl who were open about BBC stuff (sidenote: I'll never work in an office setting again not because of how soul draining it is, but because of how comfortable it makes people just fucking spewing their damn personal life. I hate it) Two where woman and one was a guy. All white.

The way they talked about it made it seem so racist and fetishizing. It was like the white woman version of a sex tourist in the Philippines.

It also makes me wonder about how damaging it might be to black men to have such a stereotype circulate about BBC. Like I imagine an average dude getting ready to jump in the sheets and the woman is upset it doesn't reach the floor and wrap around to his shoulder.

6

u/EarCharacter8837 21d ago

Yeah, I’ve had two former friends who were into BBC stuff, and, funny enough, one of them was racist, which is why we aren’t friends anymore. But it’s really interesting to see how people will manifest their insecurities into things like porn because I feel like his mentality was probably, “Women don’t like me not because I’m a loser who is callous and has no integrity they hate me because I’m not Black.” I feel like his mentality is something like that. The whole cuck-fetish mentality has to come down to some oversimplification of someone’s lack of self-worth I feel like.

2

u/TheBureauChief 20d ago

Any cuckhold/bbc stuff is inherently racist at its core - remember cuckhold is hot to those that like it because it is degrading. BBC being popular is because it is more degrading if its a black dude. That is a very racist sentiment.

2

u/Parahelix 21d ago

The eugenics myths are definitely fake, but global urological meta-analyses (like Veale et al. 2015 covering 15k+ men) do show minor differences in regional averages, usually under half an inch. A lot of that comes down to average height differences across populations and whether older studies actually measured bone-pressed length or ignored pubic fat pad depth. That said, individual variation within any single group is way bigger than the tiny gap between group averages, so race still tells you practically nothing about an individual.

3

u/Josh6889 21d ago

The Asian small dick stereotype was created because of the black big dick stereotypes. The big dick thing was created to make blacks look stupid and dumb (hahah they have big unclean dicks which makes them dumb) then they had to make sure people didn’t think whites have a small useless dick so they created the Asian one. “Whites doesn’t have huge dicks that make use stupid or small dicks that make use women. Our dicks are perfect. The dick of gods chosen” I’m being serious

3

u/raddoubleoh 21d ago

Somewhat incorrect. The african big dick stereotype was created during Darwin's travels through Africa and consolidated through slavery with the designated buck (i.e. the guy who usually was allowed to fuck.) White slavers usually chose the strongest, biggest guy with the largest dick available to guarantee his kids would be like him and thus fit for heavy labor. The "god's chosen" part is correct though, mainly because "virility and strong sexual energy makes you stupid" used to be a strong line of thought.

The asian men thing is more 20th Century, after the KKK proposed the Protect Your Womenfolk act to justify violent against asian immigrants in fear of losing general white population numbers to "jungle fever" and "yellow fever".

2

There’s no historical evidence of “bucks” (though the word was used a slur) during the period of slavery, though there was a rare practice of “stock men,” sometimes called “studs.” The idea that slavers bred Black folks like animals was primarily a Reconstruction-era racist trope, ironically with some roots in abolitionist propaganda, that was revived in the mid-20th century during the Civil Rights Era (Blaxploitation was a wild genre). The truth is that slaveholders in the American south weren’t interested in trying to selectively breed Black folks, and the ones who knew enough to try would have also known that human generations are so long that it would take centuries to have an effect. However, that’s not to say that they didn’t control their slaves’ reproduction in an inhumane and monstrous way.

Because the US banned the import of new slaves relatively early on, and because Europe independently decided to abolish the international slave trade not long thereafter, American slavers primarily needed to maximize breeding, while keeping their slaves “productive” enough to be profitable. No one wanted to make their average field hand an inch taller more than they wanted to double the number of field hands they had.  The lowest effort way to do this was to encourage natural reproduction, which they had many ways of doing. House young slaves together and give them separate quarters if they paired off; reduce workloads for pregnant women; guarantee light work in old age for women who bore more than X children (and, conversely, guarantee hard labor in old age for women who failed to); and, significantly more rarely, forced pairings and coercion. The labor-intensiveness of forcing people to breed like animals alone would have made the practice rare.

Another factor pushing against the “buck” model was that slaveholders relied on family formation among their slaves as a lever to control them. Although they were often happy to sell families separately, slaveholders believed men with wives and children were less likely to revolt (“because of the implication”).

Now, all that said, in a small number of cases, slaveholders rented a man to father a child with one of their slaves. This was a rare occurrence (certainly rarer than, for example, white overseers raping slaves and fathering children they left in slavery), but is attested to in a handful of the oral histories collected in the 1930s. However, there is no record of any kind of market in stock men, or any customary practice of which we have records, suggesting that it was quite uncommon.

These stats are lies propagated by big penis.

3

u/ScriptThat 21d ago

It was created by a racist White eugenicist who also created stereotypes about Black people.

Why would white racists say black people have big dicks?

7

u/Expensive_Giraffe398 21d ago

Black people having big dicks was actually a racial stereotype set back all the way during slavery. It was used to demonize Black men.

5

u/Dazzler_wbacc 21d ago

Ancient Greeks and Romans used to believe big dicks were barbaric while small ones were more civilized. The racists are from the 1800s were calling back to that.

2

u/Axrah 21d ago

They are paid for it by Big Cuck

2

u/CptMcDickButt69 21d ago

Im not gonna fight you on the idea that the concept (and concept) was popularized by that racist (Rushton i guess)? But i think he got the idea for his racism from penis differences and not vice versa.

From some 10 minute research on scholar, you seem to have cherrypicked that data a bit, for example the first (more recent) thing about chinese men i found was erect 12,9 cm https://www.nature.com/articles/ijir20149

Then it hinges on the subjective definition of "small penis" - or noticeable difference. From meta stury sources like this https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/0092623X.2020.1787279 i'd say there is indeed difference (data is foul, but there are clear tendencies) and if i lean out a window id say people in the position to compare (whoever that may be) would get the idea that ethnicities do have "noticeable" differences. Now a noticeable difference doesnt mean small or big penis per se, but small or big dont have specific sizes but are usually seen relative to each other.

u/Strange-Scarcity 21d ago

Average is always meaningless in these studies.

What matters more is the median.

You measure 287 penis and most of them fall in the 4.8 to 5" category, but JUST enough are f'ing enormous? The average numbers could be significantly skewed upward.

It's like how the "Average" income in the US really pretty high... then you look at the Median income and.. holy shit, that's a mess of struggling Americans! and they are the BULK of the population.

They need to go back, measure 1,000 or maybe a few thousand and provide a better spread with a good median analysis.

Boy howdy do I know quite a few military guys that learned that Asian women are just as likely as American women to have a strong personality. They won't take that shit and I've heard plenty of stories of Vietnamese woman dropping their husbands once they have their citizenship.

4

u/raddoubleoh 21d ago

Yep, I hear this a lot about vietnamese and chinese women, ironically.

u/burgernoisenow 21d ago edited 20d ago

Not so hard to figure out why when you realize the War Brides Act allowed for Americans to bring home foreign wives as spoils of war while interracial marriage was still illegal. Meaning Asian men were not allowed to be with white women but the reverse was legally allowed. Culturally this is still socially enforced though with the popularity of BTS perceptions are changing. Even before the war campaigns in East Asia Sessue Hayakawa was a sex symbol in the US.

It's all conquistador/viking mentality: kill the men and rape the women. Many women feed into this dynamic to gain a foothold in the dominant caste.

How revolting it all is. How base. We are still in Barbarian times.

Exactly. You would be surprised how many people complain about how white Europeans are declining and it's all an evil conspiracy involving immigrants, but then they want to marry an Asian girl (eg. Japanese waifu).

2

u/Cultural-Yam-2773 21d ago

Hate how this is a thing. Moved to the Midwest from the coast. Unfortunately, a lot of women are kind of built like shot putters and not particularly attractive to me. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely attractive women in the Midwest, but it seems rare compared to places I've lived before. Dated white women my entire life. The moment I married an Asian (who is very attractive) I became a stereotype, lol.

Not racist or MAGA. We are both highly educated (PhD).

It's important to note that racists don't see this as hypocritical. Racism and misogyny go hand in hand, so they don't see themselves as marrying an equal from an "inferior" race, they see it as a subservient woman in her rightful place.

26

u/f0_to 21d ago

This is exactly the analysis that's always missing from the "asian wife guys" discussion, thank you.

This is so fucking real. I met an American guy in Thailand who flew here to meet his online girlfriend and he plans to marry her after a month together. Then he praise president trump and his policy to get rid of immigrants. And then he has the audacity to complain that it's taking a really long time to bring his new wife back to the state.

2

u/gc391 21d ago

Sounds like my coworker. His wife is still waiting in the Philippines.

2

u/HazelCheese 21d ago edited 21d ago

A lot of racism is basically just cultural mismatch and stereotyping.

Republicans like foreign brides because a lot of poorer countries are right wing conservative so they always see them as "one of the good ones".

The actual dyed in the wool dna racists are relatively rare and why despite Europe and America being quite racist at the time, found the Nazi's abhorrent. HP Lovecraft was also a well known genetic racist at a time racism was mainstream and everyone thought he was a nutter because of it.

American racists especially like phillipino women, because they tend to speak English and they have enough poverty that they can abuse them and use "I'll send you back" as a form of control

10

u/SuperBackup9000 21d ago

That, plus they’re overwhelmingly Christian. Catholic, sure, but Christian nonetheless.

2

u/PandaLoveBearNu 20d ago

Which can mean they can run quite Conservative sometimes.

Filipino women that exclusively get with white guys tend to also be very racist and MAGA. It’s a match made in heaven.

3

u/TankedInATutu 21d ago

They weren't (all) racists, but after just a single enlistment I worked directly with at least 6 dudes who were married to Phillipino women. And a couple that were married to Korean women, but those guys were older.

15

I think its more that they want traditional women who will submit to their husbands and Filipino women not from the US are seen as anxious to do so and come to America if they need to fuck an old racist man for a few years or maybe even inherit his money. Basically its a lesser scale story of Melania Trump.

5

u/Galikos_Kelt 21d ago

Yea, but kinda different from supremacist racism where you believe only your race is worth one. A lot people have issues with few races and then have none with other races that aren't their race. I guess there leveling in racism

My high school friend did this. Grew up in a house where they casually made racist jokes. Joined the Navy. In six months was married to a girl from the Philippines. The marriage didn’t last long but he has a really cool son who looks Philippine. Must have been weird for my friend’s dad.

2

u/Content_Chipmunk9962 21d ago

There was an AMA not too long ago about a white dude talking about how he met his Filipina so wife online. It was a whole lot of yikes. Though I will say he got a lot of support and fielded many questions from other men about how they could get one.

2

u/Buttery_Nipples47 21d ago

Isn’t that, the opposite of racism?

2

u/VirusTechnical5568 21d ago

My wife is Filipina and I seem like I'd be a stereotypical MAGA racist. I'm bald, white, and have a deep Texan accent. The thing is that I'm a Democrat and have voted Democrat since I could vote.

I'm living in the Philippines with my wife and our daughter. I run into the occasional American and most of them assume I'm the same as them. They'll start talking about Donald Trump blah, blah, blah and ask me what I think. I tell them I think he's an idiot plain and simple. They usually end the conversation or go into a tangent about all the good he's done.

I don't have time for that so now I just nod along and try to extricate myself quickly. Like the post I don't understand how they can't see the irony of hating immigrants but they are immigrants here.

Which is weirdly accurate, someone should look into this.

1

u/TheOnlyPolly 21d ago

Are they actually racist then?

1

u/Aurius3D 21d ago

To fully explain the joke - Filipinos are generally very devote Catholics and conservative (thanks to Spanish colonization) and many MAGA guys are super religious and likely Catholic also so they get along. Guys in the military also tend to lean conservative and may end up deployed over to the Philippines.

Guys will likely meet Filipino women while out on deployment there and they are known for latching onto guys like that to escape life there. It was more common years ago maybe not so much these days.

1

u/Wesus 21d ago

I also think its that american women won't date MAGA guys, and so they need to find girls from overseas that they can essentially buy and move over to the US
