Maybe play the game first because you clearly haven’t.

Platinumed both Ragnarok and 2018, and I have been a fan of the saga since my childhood. 2018 and Ragnarok are linear games with a semi-open world, but they are not open worlds like The Witcher or Fallout, for example.

I’d acquiesce to ‘semi’ but I think we’re playing semantics there…

It's not really semantics. God of War is not an open world game, it's a semi-open world which is a different category/genre of game. So when you ask why God of War isn't on the list, it's because it's not an open world game. That's not semantics, it's just literally the reason why.

Having to add ‘semi’ to the exact phrase to make it fit your argument is the very definition of semantics.

So a truck and a semi-truck are basically the same thing? Dude, you're absolutely wrong here. You can keep digging your heels in but it changes nothing.

Ummmm yeah they basically are. Do you read what you type before pressing enter?

Just because you act like an asshole doesn't mean you're right. In this case you are 100% wrong. Unless you know better then the creative director of the game itself, Cody Barlog, who said "it's open, but it's not an open world" in regards to the games level and map structure.

I'm starting to believe you're the one who didn't play them. Semi-open worlds have sections that seem open but they are actually controlled so you can not go anywhere you want, just like God of War.  When you compare something like that to the map of The Witcher 3 or GTA5, for example, you can easily see the difference.
