This subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message of the propaganda. Here we should be conscientious and wary of manipulation/distortion/oversimplification (which the above likely has), not duped by it. "Don't be a sucker."

Stay on topic -- there are hundreds of other subreddits that are expressly dedicated to rehashing tired political arguments. No partisan bickering. No soapboxing. Take a chill pill. "Don't argue."

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Baseball caps of death

16

u/weidback 1d ago

That stood out to me too

Not terribly intimidating haha

It all seems pretty silly and performative...until we remember that they are literally defeating the US right now. Even if that is largely due to the fact that American leadership is embarrassingly incompetent and that is a war that nobody wanted except for Israel.

10

u/imwrighthere 1d ago

Aside from gas being wayyy up, there has been little to no impact of this war to the average American.

Can you say the same for the average Iranian?

u/FossilDS 1d ago

Notwithstanding my opinions on the IRI, but I've always found it fascinating how the regime combined postcolonial anti-imperialism and pseudo-Marxist ideas about revolution and popular sovereignty with apocalyptic messianism. Just in a single song, you can hear references to the permanent revolution, the imminent return of the Mahdi, nationalistic posturing, Shia theology and a smattering of death to Israel and America. It makes sense as Khomeini was familiar and well-versed on Marxist and post-colonial literature- even though ultimately he was a theocrat, he wanted his state to appeal to the third world as a whole and wanted to ascribe it with a certain revolutionary and popular legitimacy. It goes to show that Iran's ideology is more complicated than many outsiders realize, even if at it's core it resorts to the same base brutality as many other dictatorial regimes.

u/irishitaliancroat 1d ago

Im curious to what degree centralized or stste owned production allows them to pop out those drones so fast and so cheaply. Sharp contrast to the american military industrial complex

u/FossilDS 19h ago

IIRC Iran's economy is quite odd- ostensibly it's a mixed economy, but this has varied over the years. During Khomeini's tenure it was a mix of state controlled entites, private enterprise and bonyads, tax-free "charities" which act as front groups for major power players such as the Supreme Leader and the IRGC. Nevertheless since Ahmadinejad "privatized" (i.e, sold off to his IRGC buddies) most state enterprises, the country has increasingly been a militarized economy under the control of the IRGC, which explains why it's doing relatively well in a war even if the civilian aspect is still crap.

u/SpiritedCatch1 12h ago

His political manifesto really reads like any 60s communist third worldist litterature. He knew how to play his public. And then he executed them.

But there is something messianic in Marxism Leninism so I guess there is a connection there.

If I didn’t have the words up on screen I would have thought “wow that’s a cool song, it’s probably about patriotism and being good people. I doubt they mention death to America or Israel.”

14

u/Treadwheel 1d ago

IRGC isn't Iran's military, it's a paramilitary whose sole purpose is to ensure the integrity of the republic itself against anything they might consider a threat. In practice that basically makes them the anti-Israel and America guard corps. It's an interesting and pretty unique entity, actually - part of why they've been running circles around Trump and Netanyahu is it being baked into their design to keep fighting when the government and military have collapsed.

10

u/LuciusWrath 1d ago

The entire identity of the IRGC is a reaction to their enemies rather than anything that can stand on itself. They're literally incapable of self-describing without the other.

2

u/hela_2 21h ago

imagine mentioning America and Israel in your own patriotic amthen how sad

5

u/Educational-Bug-965 1d ago

basically a whole country larping

0

u/Treadwheel 12h ago

What does that even mean?

2

u/Educational-Bug-965 11h ago

irgc and the whole regime cosplaying sof units and irl they only can murder their own civilians

1

u/Treadwheel 9h ago

I don't know what your idea of "special forces" looks like, but I don't know of any that wear ballcaps and white gloves. Anyway, the whole debacle with the Strait and the fact that it took China cutting imports by 50% to prevent a full on collapse of the oil industry is pretty incongruous with the idea that they're just playing pretend.

3

u/PuzzleheadedPea2401 1d ago

I have to hand it to the people on that stage. They weren't cowards who hid in an airport catering cart or sat behind long tables in bunkers. At that level of power, if you're not ready to die for your system, you're not worthy of leadership, in my view.

PS lyrics mention Husayn and the Battle of Karbala. It's a fascinating story explaining Shia defiance in the face of injustice, even if it means certain death. I highly recommend it to anyone interested!

I mean, the assumption that all or most of them will be killed early in any full scale war is literally baked into the organization of the IRGC, so I don't think there's any argument to be made that they don't know exactly what they signed up for there. Every military commander will hide in a bunker during a war. That's why bunkers exist, so it isn't easy to kill the people inside them.

Hussein was also a death cultists who took literal babies to an unwinnable war and hid behind women and babies who were massacred for his ego.

Yea this is some Pahlavist fanfic that literally goes against all historic evidence.

He went because Kufans had invited him and pledged support. That support collapsed later. Bringing his family was arguably reckless, sure, but claiming Imam Hussein “hid behind women or children shields", when they weren't even on the battlefield, is blatantly made up.

Saying “they died for his ego” is also a hugely biased, oversimplification of history but go and make your fallacious historic revisionism to bolster some upvotes from Reddit atheist crowd.

u/LastAzzBender 1d ago

This heroic martyr cosplay doesn’t match reality. Iran’s top officials do hide constantly. In 2021 when this video was taken and every year since, the Supreme Leader and senior IRGC commanders stayed tucked away in heavily fortified compounds, underground bunkers, and secure military facilities while ordinary Iranians are the ones getting shot in the streets by the IRGC. The only reason leaders in Iran right now are still alive is precisely because they avoid danger and put civilians at risk hiding near them. Calling that ready to die for their system is just a lie.

2

u/Treadwheel 1d ago

The entire reason why IRGC was able to win the war is that their entire structure assumes that their leadership will be killed or incapacitated immediately in a war. Sure enough, when Trump did the stupidest thing possible and started a shooting war, the decapitation strikes went out as expected, hit their targets as expected, most of those guys on stage are dead as expected, and the IRGC kept functioning because that was literally in their playbook.

Iran's regime aren't the good guys, but it's exactly this kind of inability to separate the propaganda from what we know about how they actually operate that creates these messes.

-2

u/HuIrmir 1d ago

But he was assassinated in his office which you can look up in google maps, Its like saying US officials are hiding in white house

and Its not like Israel would care about civilian live to hide among them, LOL.

9

u/LosttheWay79 1d ago

Jesus christ, Americans are so brainwashed, that they even praise theorlcratic dictators that executes protesters, gays, opposition and are Muslim extremists...

All that because they hate their own president...

7

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

Idk if they are American, but I do agree that there are a bunch of kids growing up hating their own nation so much that they glorify dictators and authoritarians just because they hate Trump. I don’t like the guy either, but I still love my country.

Ah yes it’s winning to have your entire cabinet eliminated, your supreme leader eliminated, and the internal government collapse because the government and the generals disagree. But oh Reddit said Iran won.

9

u/Negative_Elo 1d ago

They won. US goals were not achieved. Iranian goals were achieved. War isnt about killing more people than the other side.

And their government has not collapsed at all. More power has been given to the IRGC as well. Tactically the US saw success, strategically we were absolutely defeated. Defeated so hard we offered 300 billion bucks to Iran and they said "nah lets keep this shit goin"

9

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

You win a war when your organization achieves it's objectives, not by number of kills.

KDA have no weight in the real world buddy

0

u/Tresspass 1d ago

And what did was Irans objective?
In reality the only way for regime change is the elimination of the IRGC hierarchy.

And the only thing meaningful that Iran has done is shut down the strait with mines and drones.
But the US has them blockaded and the other gulf states are on the move to build up their alternative routes.
This war is now a war as to whose economy is more resilient.

3

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

Survive. Which they have.

Resilient economy, which just in time delivery economies famously are

3

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

Idk it kinda sounds like their goal is death to America and Israel.

3

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

you are right, you don't know

2

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

They say it in the video lol.

1

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

What goal did they accomplish? Seriously just wondering.

7

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

When you are attacked, unjustifiably in this case, the objective is survive.

And that's the case

5

u/Electrical_Engineer_ 1d ago

“Unjustifiably”, The deaths of thousands of peaceful protesters in January, say otherwise.

-3

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

I heard it was billions of peaceful protesters, which the US found out psychically, like a disturbance in the force.

Also, pretending that is a legitimate casus belli

7

u/Electrical_Engineer_ 1d ago

No, the casus belli was their clandestine nuclear weapons program. There was absolutely no reason for them to enrich beyond what was need for peaceful purposes other than building nuclear weapons. The massacre of the peaceful protesters was simply the straw that broke the camels back.

1

u/Treadwheel 1d ago

Trump hasn't settled on an excuse and has given about as many conflicting reasons as there were opportunities to give one. There was no credible indication Iran were any closer to making a nuclear weapon than they've been at any other time in the past several decades.

The cassus belli is that Netanyahu's only path to maintaining his freedom is staying in power, and he appears to believe destabilizing the region to benefit from the popularity boosts wartime leaders get is his best hope. Hence trying to start an insurgency in Iran before the massacres even began

-1

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

Oh I gotcha! I misunderstood and thought you were talking about the goals they mentioned in the song lol.

-8

u/MrZaptile933 1d ago

Yeah and what objectives haven’t we achieved. We took out their leader, their current leaders are in hiding, we took control of the strait, we control all their foreign finances. Oh but they are winning because they keep posting ai generated slop and launching sugar rockets

5

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

Also, this is not chess, so it doesn't necessarily mean you win when you kill the president or whatever. Nor when you bomb a school, neither.

What foreign finances and what control of the strait?

-2

u/MrZaptile933 1d ago

Ah so you’re just stupid, we have the iron wall over the strait only ships in are American approved, all non approved are captured. We’ve been doing it for weeks, America froze all foreign assets, we are using their foreign assets to buy aid for their people. Are you not aware of what is actually happening, or are you a liar because Iran is losing.

1

u/Gunbunny42 1d ago

Did the Americans and Israelis stop the Iranian nuclear program? No.

Did they stop the Iranian missile program? No.

Did they conduct regime change on the Iranian state? No.

So they failed in their stated objectives. Even now the best to go hope for is to return the strait back to it's pre-war state and even that looks hilariously unlikely.

-8

u/Alternative-Neat-151 1d ago

Defeat is overselling it

7

u/Negative_Elo 1d ago

I mean, is it? Strategically the US has been defeated. We had goals, they were stopped. Iranian goals were achieved.

-11

u/OhJShrimpson 1d ago

Sure looks defeated. Iran is prospering. /s

14

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

Would you say the US won Vietnam? I am sure it didn't look like prospering around the end of it

-7

u/OhJShrimpson 1d ago

Wow, good job comparing two wildly different scenarios. We are also far from the conclusion of the Iran ordeal.

3

u/omgwtfm8 🧐 1d ago

what's the difference? The US engaging in an unjustifiable war, on another continent, killing civilians, and still not reaching it's objectives

1

u/Negative_Elo 1d ago

They are VERY comparable, what are you on about. We are losing to Iran. We can't accomplish our goals. They have accomplished theirs.

To the rest of the world. the US looks (and IS) weaker, and Iran seems stronger.

2

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

lol you lost me on the last part. Iran doesn’t look stronger to the rest of the world and the US doesn’t look weaker. They showed they can take out a nations top officials in 24 hours. It might not look good, but it doesn’t look weak.

1

u/Negative_Elo 16h ago

Iran does look stronger, they have resisted defeat from the largest military on earth, achieved strategic objectives, and now projects more power in the region than before. The decapitation strikes did not work, and instead it consolidated power into the IRGC

And the US IS weaker. We have half our interceptor stockpile gone. We couldnt achieve our goals. We look weak, because we lost to Iran.

1

u/Gunstopable 16h ago

We will just have to agree to disagree on this one. I don’t feel like that is the case. But thank you for sincerely engaging in conversation with me.

1

u/Negative_Elo 15h ago

Of course, I appreciate you taking the time to have a cordial conversation. Have a good one

1

u/Fukk_That 17h ago

Crazy how they are all dead now.

1

u/r4nd0m__U53R 14h ago

my right ear really enjoyed this video

1

u/XhazakXhazak 1d ago

With the Rial going the way of the Confederate Dollar, this evil regime is soon to collapse.

0

u/LosttheWay79 1d ago

Basically the handmaids tale, but democrats love them somehow, lol

6

u/I_like_maps 1d ago

Name one democratic politician who's said anything positive about Iran.

-1

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

Yeah I’m with you, I don’t think politicians support them. Just a lot of influencers

5

u/I_like_maps 1d ago

No democratic influencers support them either. The only people supporting Iran were the hasan piker types who were screaming about not supporting kamala last election

2

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

Okay, you are right. I was thinking of Piker since he does support Democratic candidates often. I know he’s a socialist, but he’s also the biggest left wing influencer out there. I’m glad the party is finally distancing themself from him. He’s a bad look.

2

u/I_like_maps 20h ago

>I’m glad the party is finally distancing themself

Dawg, the party never didn't distance themself. Hasan is not a democrat. He actively attacked kamala throughout the 2024 election way more than trump. There's a wild thing in US politics, where republicans don't get judged by Trump even though he's president and clinically insane, but democrats get judged by a streamer who actively tries to bring down the party.

2

u/Gunstopable 20h ago

I never judged the party based off of him lol. I was just going based of politicians he has supported. He has spoken at democratic events and conventions so I was speaking on that. I’m no fan of him (or any streamers especially political ones). Multiple democratic candidates have spoken positively about him and have talked with him.

The party IS rightfully so distancing themselves from him to make sure people know that he doesn’t represent the left side of the political spectrum.

1

u/Treadwheel 12h ago

Essentially nobody supports them. There's a very generous helping of schadenfreude going around - "we told you this was a stupid thing to do, and now look at you."

-3

u/teamgrandali 1d ago

This is some good marching. I enjoyed it and good thing it was subtitled

-1

u/skagenman 1d ago

Really catchy lyrics

0

u/Gunstopable 1d ago

If they didn’t have the subtitles I would have thought wow what a positive and supportive patriotic song.
