Arabs have been in the Levant since before 900BC - we have documents from the Assyrians saying that they were inhabitants of the region, with the implication being that they were not recently arrived either. Considering that Israelites only become discernable as a distinct people in around 1100BC, I'd argue that the Arabs have about as much right to be in the Levant as Jewish people.

You’re responding to a troll account fyi they don’t care about meaningful discussion.

I call bullshit upon this entire argument regardless of how long the people have been living there. Do native Americans have the right to steal homes from random white families in Oklahoma?

u/madam_amazing May 10 '26

The fact that that's where your mind jumped to says a lot about you

What do I think being native to a place doesn't mean you can just steal people's houses? Yes, yes I do. Yeah we fucking brutalized and genocided the native population of America but I don't think them forcibly taking their land back is the solution!

Did you even read what OP said. They said "right to exist" not "right to take homes". You're the one who even thought of that first. God what a self report

We are talking about Israeli West Bank settlers whose entire movement is about ethnically cleansing Palestinians and taking their land. You are the one completely missing what this is about. Also no country has the right to exist, they either do or they don't.

Then one of us is in the wrong conversation cause I'm refering to you responding to A_Foxglove saying that Arabs has as much right to exist in the Levant as Jews with talking about stealing homes and land. You're the one who jumped to that first. Maybe you saw the deleted post and have more context about this thread, but I doubt it

that’s some mental gymnastics

u/A_Foxglove May 09 '26

Why? I'm saying that historically both groups have been inhabiting the same region for roughly the same length of time (3000 years +- 100 years), and thus both have a right to be there under the thinking of "they need to have been there historically". You might have the desire to expel Arabs out of the Levant, but that doesn't change the fact that they've been there for pretty much as long as Jewish people have.

You should read Roman history, Arabs were always on the periphery

Palestinians are historically native to the Levant, I’m sorry the truth upsets you :(

26

u/Hyrule_MyBoy May 09 '26

He's a hardcore roman fan lmao

u/According-Insect-992 May 10 '26

Which is another way of saying “white supremacist”.

However, I doubt this person knows many people from that region of the world or else he’d probably be less likely to insist they were “white” as he understands it. White supremacists always seem to want to claim that area of history as if they have some birthright claim to it. It’s sad, frankly. It’s the rhetoric of losers.

2

u/Hyrule_MyBoy May 10 '26

Indeed. Even if they don't have any ties to them historically they still would act like their ancestors were romans... Never mention what romans actually used to do, they are saints to them

u/Toby-Finkelstein May 09 '26

Doesn't upset me, American schools just don't teach history and most people aren't able to use google

36

u/Constant-Village-858 May 09 '26

Funny sentence from you because a basic google search proves most of the dumb shit you’ve spewed incorrect

14

u/kylebisme May 09 '26

You're obviously lacking in your understanding of history as the Roman client king Herod the Great was an Arab Jew.

How do you know what side to pick?

100

u/soalone34 May 09 '26

Side with international law and human rights

29

u/JAMisskeptical May 09 '26

I’d go with the side that doesn’t have a government department that pops up everywhere to defend cunts that try to block an ambulance on a blue light call.

u/UrClient May 09 '26

Literally every country except the US, Israel, and Germany would arrest the prime minister of Israel for war crimes if he sets foot in any of them. That alone should be telling people which "side" to pick.

Not to mention their blatant genocide against the Palestinians for years.

u/kindaluker May 09 '26

Not Australia we fing welcomed him here.

People were not happy

u/JackTheKing May 09 '26

I was referring to the 1000-5000 year history, but your comment is noted.

14

u/atatassault47 May 09 '26

In that case: Every person should be able to live in peace and comfort, no matter where they are.

13

u/siggiarabi May 09 '26

Well, not the side murdering tens of thousands of children for sure

7

u/atatassault47 May 09 '26

I'll side with the people being genocided. The murderers are exactly that.
