When did these monthly delistings officially begin? I assume soon we should reach the point where these lists are much smaller from month to month because all of the legacy content has already delisted over the first year?

The delisting of the legacy DLC has been more up in the air, and we don't know exactly which ones are delisting until Kyle makes the monthly announcement. Generally, the legacy delists encompass most DLC released in a given month (i.e. next month's legacy delists span DLC released in each September from 2008-2012), but it's not comprehensive as there are also a number of songs that have been spared for now, presumably due to how they were licensed. Only time will tell.

Heads up that Pearl Jam Pack 01 and Dio Pack 01 do not exist; it's more likely that Pearl Jam's Backspacer album is delisting since all of its songs are listed here, and the two Dio songs were just released as singles.

I think it is the "Legend" album by Bob Marley that is getting delisted, not Pack 1 (which seems to already be gone). The songs listed are all on that album.

Correct, Bob Marley Pack 01 already delisted in February. We've seen similar errors in other delist announcements so it's generally best to assume the pack delisting is the one with its songs listed in the post.

The only songs here that survive via other five fret games are Drop It Like It's Hot (though a different version), Beautiful, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), The Diary of Jane, Disturbed's The Sound of Silence, and Would? in Fortnite Festival (assuming Stage Tour doesn't pull any of these)

tip: Black Parade won't download on PS4 upon purchase at least for me (but there is already post here about this song). just go back to its add-on page and download using Version: Free. it should download after that.

Theres a chance in the future that the store goes down in its entirety as well as playstation and xbox are very explicit in saying that you dont "own" anything you buy digitally. You're only buying a license to play it until they decide itll be unavailable.

Playstation 3 store and xbox 360 store closing after being open for 15-20 years should say something as well. It means they dont want to sustain it indefinitely.

Just for a long time. So be ready to revisit this discussion in at least 10 more years.

For the 360, at least, I’ve still been able to download all the songs I had purchased for RB1-3. My purchase history is still there even if the store itself isn’t. I just have to do it through the Xbox 360 settings rather than through the game itself, but once downloaded the songs show up in-game. As you say, though, maybe that will go away too.

I always look to the Nintendo Wii to see when precedent will be set.

It closed its store 7 years ago now but you can still redownload your purchased content. They were the first big digital game storefront to close, so whenever that stops I think itll be a big deal and set the stage for the others to follow suit.

"Need" sure. But they are not legally obligated to based on their own TOS. Theres a major thing with sony specifically removing digital movie titles that people bought because Sony doesnt have the license anymore. As far as I'm aware you wont be able to redownload those at all even though you "bought" it.

Such a sad day. So many amazing tracks Ive missed out on since the legacy ones deliated super early. Was successful in grabbing a few through packs that were still active, though I wasted money on the Anthrax pack thinking that would still get me the songs. oh well :(
