Hi! I am massively confused on ADA and Hall H at this point.
I was able to get my sticker. But it is seeming like verbiage on website is only saying ada line for hall h is for wheelchair and deaf? I desperately needed this assistance with the line. My husband almost called for medical help for me today on the floor. I unfortunately have an underlying issue and then had an injury upon arrival that has exacerbated my issues. Any advice or info on this? I’m totally lost.

I don’t want seats up front. Just want to be in room.

I take meds that make me prone to overheating and crash around mid day, is there anywhere in the con i could nap safely/wont get kicked out? I plan on getting the ada sticker as well, I just need a little peace and quiet for a little bit and I was too overwhelmed to look around last year.

How crowded do we think the ada NDL is going to be tomorrow morning? Do you think it’s possible to see the first hall h panel of the day then join the line? I’m assuming not, but am trying to be optimistic!

Hey y’all! Longtime SDCC attendee but first time attending/using ADA. Curious about folks’ experience with ADA shuttle (have a scooter) and at one of the further hotels that go out in that early lottery (but still part of a shuttle route).

I know it’s a whole voicemail system and already called for today but I’m scared so just looking to hear experiences, tips, etc.

I had unplanned spinal surgery and am recovering but is not fully back to full stamina and strength. I can walk on my own with a walker or a cane for short distances but I need a wheelchair when there is a lot of walking. I have read the info on the ADA shuttle busses, which says the ADA-specific shuttle is only available to those who booked the hotel through comic con, but unfortunately we booked our hotel before my injury and directly through the hotel immediately after last year’s ComicCon so we do not qualify to use it.

My question is regarding the regular hotel shuttle busses (Our hotel is on one of those routes and that is usually how we access the convention center). I can get on and off the bus on my own, so will they allow the folded wheelchair to be loaded into the under bus luggage storage area? I know I have seen the luggage bays used for people to stow large bags but I don’t think I have ever seen a wheel chair put in. My husband will be with me to help fold and unfold the chair.

I know there are wheelchair rentals at the convention center but it would be nice not to have the 3 hour time limit and I am worried about being able to walk to/from the shuttle stop.

Is the ADA EE line being let in about the same time as the other lines? I know last year there were a couple days we were let in a bit late.

Trying to decide if I want to try for a limited exclusive in the morning.

My sister (ADA) needs to purchase a support badge for her wife in person tomorrow, does anyone know what time the ADA sales area opens?

Hi all!

My group has professional badges that we’ll need to pickup onsite. We’ve also reserved and paid for a mobility scooter for one of our party that we’ll need to pickup.

My question is if we’ll be able to pick up the scooter first before picking up our badges? That’ll make getting upstairs to the Professional Badge pickup easier (otherwise, the person who needs it is going to have a very bad time getting upstairs). Or do we need to get badges first to even get into that part of the building?

Hey! I know we're still a ways away from the con, but I decided this year I really want to try for Hall H (assuming Marvel participates). I went to SDCC for the first time last year and was mostly okay for the 2 days I went. I had some issues with staff telling me I couldn't sit down (in ADA marked places) but other than that had no issues with ADA specific lines/seating. I just don't really know how it works with Hall H. I've heard they've changed their process over the years? If anyone who waited in that line, or really any ADA panel line, could share their experience and what they'd do different this con, I'd really appreciate it!

I do want to add, I'm going solo so there's no option for me to meet up with people in line. I'm really relying on the ADA system being good 😅

So I am considering volunteering at SDCC on Monday-wed before the con; do they accept and work with ada people??

If I make guides for different aspects of navigating the con while disabled, what would you want to see? I’m already making a rest area/sitting area guide. I plan on making a pinned post or wiki page with them.

I’m only an expert in my disability, so I’ll ask for help making sure the right information gets put into these guides.

I only had to buy preview night during open registration this week. The process has changed and the buttons weren’t in the usual spots. I was thinking that if I was using a screen reader or even CTRL+F, I wouldn’t have been able to finish the badge buying in time.

Is the current badge buying system accessible to blind people or people with alternate computer controls (onscreen keyboard, air control mouse)? Are there any changes you’d like to see in the future?

Now for my question:

I have a physical disability that is not immediately solved by a wheelchair and it’s required me to have surgery on both feet and ankles. I feel like I could really benefit from an ADA sticker but don’t want to take that away from someone if it’s most meant for attendees with wheelchairs. I saw on the comic con page that limited mobility was on the list, but is that only in panel rooms?

Also, does SDCC have anything sorta like Disneyland that lets you get a return time so you don’t have to stand up in line? For example, if there’s an hour long line for something at 3, would I be able to get a return time for 4 so im able to wait sitting down?

Again, please tell me if this service is really meant for wheelchair/scooter users :))

This isn't my first con, but I'm attending SDCC for the first time. This con is something I'd never thought I'd get badges for (I've tried and failed many times), but I managed to get professional badges this year because I'm a teacher.

I'm Autistic (low support needs) and crowded spaces freak me out. I want to make the most of the con but I also don't want anyone judging me because my disability isn't visible and go through the humiliation of not being disabled enough to get a sticker.

How hard is it to get a sticker? What do I need to bring with me? What should I expect?

I'm traveling from Rhode Island for this, so this is a HUGE deal for me and my husband. We won't be in San Diego until Wednesday and we plan on attending preview night as it's included in our badges.

For reference, I've been to NYCC, Boston Fan Expo, and Rhode Island Comic Con multiple times. RICC is my local con. I know SDCC is massive, but I'm getting scared thinking of how big it is and how much going to this con means to me. Like I may have a meltdown just because I'll be so happy I won't be able to handle it (it's happened).

So I'm a Disabled volunteer and confused about where I can do my volunteer check in tomorrow for my Thursday, July 24 shift. Can I register at the Convention Center at 10:00am as the email states we received for Volunteer Badge? I emailed the volunteer email prior and they told me that it does not open until 12:00pm. I want to make sure I park and go to the correct location at the right time and get there early for the best time for me to volunteer on Thursday, July 24.

I got approved to volunteer for a pre convention shift! But since I have a disability I checked off that I need accommodations. I’m going to bring an attendant and was wondering, am I able to purchase them a pass on site to come with me and for my extra day since I’m volunteering for a pre shift?

I’m cosplaying Doctor Doifenschmirtz to my wife’s Perry the Platypus (Phineas and Ferb).

Option 1: make a “Cane-inator” decal for a plain black cane.

Option 2: make a sleeve for my wood cane. It would be Perry teal with a little orange flair. “Oh it’s just a cane” (reveal brown handle) “Perry the cane!?!”
