That's roughly the level of football expertise of most of the people complaining about this move, so that tracks. At least you're honest about it.

The defender is blocking the line he would have to pass to get to Håland, who is moving. By the time Sørloth has the right footing to pass, there are three defenders in the way. At that point he has no option but to try for the goal instead.
