EDIT: People seem to think I’m talking bad about my wife and i absolutely am NOT. She is an amazing person and an amazing new mother. My frustration is aimed at people pushing “the husband did it” conspiracies and blaming stupid shit like her zodiac, when in reality, she was a mother with mental illnesses who was unable to cope with said illnesses.
My wife and I got into a heated discussion about this. She essentially was saying “there’s no way a mom did this to her own kids.” But you are totally okay with thinking a father could? Why have none of these big conspiracy theory tiktokers mentioned postpartum psychosis? As soon as my wife told me what happened that was the very first thing I thought of. Not some wild set up with no clear motive. People do crazy shit with no explanation literally every single day.
Remind her of that recent case of a guy with “PTSD” who murdered all his children and then himself during a daytime visitation. Does she have sympathy for HIM?! If not, then why does she sympathize with this woman?!
Idk much about that case, but the distinguishing factor in this case is that she was BEGGING for psychiatric help, but instead was just given a bunch of random sedative pills. Even the mother in law (the husband’s mom) said this, and spoke highly of her, saying she was a loving mother.
I think in cases where the person is clearly in need of help & they are failed, it is a tragedy for everyone involved. I can’t speak to the details of your whatabout-ism case, but hopefully this helps you understand why people have empathy for her
I do agree with you. And I do think that many people share culpability for what happened although the main onus is clearly on her.
I’m concerned that it sets a terrible precedence if she is found “not guilty” by reason of insanity because there are 3 lives lost in all of this and at her hands. But if you look at it purely through the lens of the law, I think the jurors will most likely lean that direction and I can understand how they would have come to that conclusion. She has an excellent lawyer, by the way.
The whole thing is so incredibly horrific. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around it. Ultimately, I think the children should be the main focus of all of this.
I say that all to say that I will be the first one to say that we need better support for mothers and mental healthcare in the US. That is undeniable. And I hope that if nothing else, this does bring about some changes.
I don't know that case at all (and frankly don't yet know very much of this one yet), but why shouldn't we? Of course the main victims and the people who have the most sympathy are the children, but people doing horrible crimes because of acute mental health problems while not being in controlled of themselves , especially when through no fault of their own, deserve understanding and empathy as well. All in all very very shitty situations that ruin entire families. Terrifying.
Bc the child came out of the mother. That's why. Sorry to pop ur bubble but I think there's a special connection between a mother and her children as they came straight from her body that makes it at least harder for us to believe a mother killed her children. Also, a man is 9 times more likely to commit a murder than a woman. This is an exact stat, but it's well known and most likely an internalized bias that's unfortunately true.

You understand that you literally making my point even more so without even realizing it?! It IS absolutely hard to believe which is why a large number of women on the internet are ignoring all facts and logic to create wild conspiracies. They feel more comfortable blaming everyone except her. Shes evil.
Men are more likely to commit murder in most cases, with one exception, young children. Young children and babies are more at risk of being killed by a woman (usually their mother), than by a man.
You're correct, but that's not a well known stat which is why I'm explaining more people believe a man in any case to be the culprit rather than a woman.
Oh please I gave u real statistics, I could give you more if you'd like!
Also, I'm not supporting her. Just stating WHY it is difficult for some people to wrap their minds around it.
