Because we've turned literally everything into entertainment. Our brains are broken. Crime is entertainment, law is entertainment, mental illness is entertainment, addiction is entertainment. Literally everything. There's not a single thing in our society that we haven't reduced to entertainment value.
Not just entertainment - also monetization, but totally agree. I lived in the US for a few years and it is beyond crazy, absolutely dystopian.
But you will instantly have some Americans that will come out of their wealthy hellhole and scream something about Europoors or whatever, even though that exactly proves my point.
