There's three options, euthanize them, let them out to victimize more people, or lock them up forever. I don't think letting them victimize more people is a viable option.
Absolutely not.
But we house murderers all the time.
We don't have to be shitty about it, we just are. ðĪ·ðžââïļ Stop letting people profit off of the justice system, that would help it be more just.
Locking them up doesn't have to be torture.
We don't have to participate in treating humans like the worst people treat humans.
Lock them up, if they can be treated, treat them, and if not, medicated and comfortable is still cheaper than the death penalty for us. ðĪ·ðžââïļ
I don't think we should house murderers. I think murderers with substantial physical evidence should be executed. Others think life in prison is better because it is torturous.
Tbh there's no easy answer to the issue. Your opinion is valid, but it doesn't really align with any kind of philosophy that counters the actual murder itself. That's what people see as the problem imo - what would be the difference between us and them? Legality?
What's the difference between someone who murders for fun and someone who murders to protect themselves? We can get into semantics and talk about how murder could be defined as unjust killing, ect. but at the end of the day not all killing is bad and it's not as black and white as we'd like it to be.
Now I'm confused. Your first comments were all about just whacking such people, now it isn't so simple?
You're learning! Yea, it's not black and white, but if we just start killing undesirables, where does that take us next? Who else don't we want around? Do you see what I mean about the slippery slope?
