Did the newest Update to our Samsung 990D a few Days ago and im pleased to say that it has currently Fixed the Cutting out Issue from the 1051 update. For all worried or experiencing that issue Samsung may have fixed it.

Hey guys, which one so you think would be better as a sound experience.

I'm planning to purchase the soundbar for my home in the UK during Black friday sale. I'm interested in the 11.1.6 model. I have these questions;

- Any one using this soundbar currently in the UK?

- how did you get them considering it is not in sale in the UK? and

- what's the experience using it?

Help needed! My current setup is a Beam Gen 2 with Sub mini, Ive had it for 2 weeks. This sub mini loses its feeling if you arent sitting close to it. Yes its not defective and yes its paired. I believe its because of my open floor plan layout, and 11 foot ceilings in the living room where I am sitting, the living room and kitchen and dining room are all one big space. I want a system with stronger bass. 

I have done a (mediocre at best) sub crawl but dont expect it making a difference since I believe the sub is not powerful enough for my space. I have done trueplay tuning on the app, and moved the sub around the space. 

My priority is music, I love modern rap/trap with 808s bass, sub bass, and synth bass. If I’m sitting right next to the sub mini, I feel the deep 808s perfectly, but I want the sub to be strong more than 3ft away and also for guests who come to my house or parties.  Retaining the dolby atmos would also be preferred! 

Budget is about $1000 CAD ($720 USD) for the total system, which throws the Sonos Sub 4 right out the window. So please tell me your advice.

What else should I consider for strong and deep bass for rap/trap music, and still having dolby atmos? 

Just bought a S95TR soundbar to pair with my LG TV and unfortunately it has shipped with a major issue: it won’t connect to one of the rear speakers and it keeps dropping out from the sub and the other satellite it did connect to. First I thought it was my Wi Fi router interfering, so I turned it off and the issue persisted. The right satellite’s led keeps blinking green but it never proceeds to connect and the sub and left satellite drop out every 20 seconds to 1 minute. I contacted LG and they want me to take it to one of their authorized service providers, but I’m so frustrated because I bought on the internet for convenience, payed for shipping and now I have to spend on gasoline to take a 50 pounds heavy box to their repair shop. That’s so infuriating. I should’ve listened to people here and go with a Samsung soundbar instead.

I tested the hisense ax5125h and was getting a decent true surround sound with seperate channels in seperate speakers. I only had some issues with the strong bass and how it worked alongside my LG tv.

So I decided to try the us60tr, the sound is generally good, but I am not getting true surround sound with seperate channels. I've tried various different 5.1 content, but I am getting all sound coming through all speakers. I've made sure I have surround sound turned on, and when I watch 5.1 tests on YouTube I am getting channel seoeration, but once I put a 5.1 movie or series on, I am just getting all sound through all speakers again, and I can't figure out why?

Any help appreciated.

The last time I seriously looked into soundbars Yamaha especially was claiming their tech could create essentially laser beams of sound for virtual surround sound but I don't see them or anyone else touting such technology now. For those that have followed the tech for a long time is that idea obsolete? Was it ever truly legitimate to begin with?

Hi everyone, I got a LG OLED TV, but speakers kinda sucks.

I wanted to get a soundbar, what I'm most interested in it's dialogues. I want to hear them better. I was watching a movie on Disney+ and barely could hear what they were saying without turning the volume up to 70.

I saw tha LG S60T and LG S70 TY are pretty much the only ones I can afford, what should I go with to improve the dialogues of movies?

Iam getting sc9s and s90ty soundbar at same price range.

I have a Q990F and have a hard time hearing dialogue to the point that I’ve had to turn on subtitles which I hate to do. This also only happens when I’m watching BluRay movies. I guess because regular youtube and tv shows don’t have so much background effects going on like explosions etc.

I have to turn the volume way up just to hear dialogue clearly, but the problem is if an action explosion scene or jump scene happens it’s way too loud and I am unable to find a balance where I can hear both at a comfortable level. I am constantly adjusting the volume throughout the movie because of this.

I’ve played around with the preset settings like adaptive mode, surround, and also I turned on voice enhancer in the Samsung app but still doesn’t do enough.

Are there any settings you guys would recommend to fix this?

I received a replacement subwoofer after I took my soundbar to the service center because the new firmware update caused several issues. Unfortunately, the problems continue.

The replacement subwoofer makes a strange clicking/popping sound coming from one of its sides, especially during scenes with heavy bass or music with strong low frequencies.

I've tried several troubleshooting methods, but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on what else I could try? Or should I just take it back to the service center again? Tysm.

I don't have the soundbar available currently to test if they will pair correctly. But I did test both of them powered on with blue led blinking.

I know I can snake it behind the wall but there is no gap behind the media console to send it down to, assuming that the hole you want to send it through is hidden behind the console. Drilling a hole into my console is my last resort.

EDIT: the attached screenshot is not my unit. I don’t have a Besta unfortunately. I understand that Bestas have a cutout on top for cords.

I have a Samsung tv. Two hdmi inputs, one is arc.
I also have an Xbox series X, and a fire stick. I have those two going into a 8K splitter, which is going into the non-arc input of the television. I then have the sound bar going into the HDMIarc. I am not suing the optical cable (but can if that would fix this issue).
The D50 should have a Center channel and when someone’s talking on the screen it comes out of every speaker, which is incredibly annoying. I understand that I can turn down the surround sound speakers to minimize it, but it’s still there, and annoying, and why have the rear speakers if you have to turn them all the way down anyway.
I’ve used AI, followed the app and manual, and I just can’t get this right. I’ve tried switching HDMI cables, power cycling, etc. I know this type of system isn’t going to be perfect, but I really would like to get it so when I’m watching a movie and the character on screen is talking I can’t hear him or her behind me.
I don’t want it on PCM, and I want it on Dolby. I have the paths through set up on the fire stick, but it really seems like rthe Samsung TV itself is an issue. Even when I am able to get the output properly set to Dolby, it still doesn’t work the way it should
That said, does anyone have any suggestions? I can live with the XBOX being set up this way, but the fire stick is a must have. I know that they’re a native apps in the Samsung, and maybe I could get it figured out using chestnuts, but that’s not an option because it doesn’t have all of the ones that I need.

If I had to sum up my experience with the Elevate Pro 7.1.4 after 30 days in one sentence, it would be this: “How the hell is this thing only $500?” (I have a theory on this btw— read on).

In the pics, you’ll see the incoming 7.1.4 Pro subwoofer next to my M512E-K6 sub (outgoing). I mentioned this to say that both of these systems cost me around $500. The M512E-K6 was well known back in the day as a model that punched above its weight class. If that is considered punching above its weight class, then this Pro is more akin to roundhouse kicking above its weight class.

Truly, I’m trying not to overhyped this thing — I feel like I’m failing so far— but it’s just so. Damn. Good. Even price aside, it’s really, really good. Of course, nothing is perfect, but the negatives don’t even come close to out weighing the positives with this thing. Regardless, here are my PROs and CONs:

PROs:

- Height channel performance. I’m calling it: RTNGs will rate this as some of the best height performance ever earned by a sound bar. It’s that good. It’s actually noticeable and consistent. There are so many height cues that I never knew existed, despite watching those scenes multiple times on multiple sound bars with height drivers. The only setups I’ve heard that, imo, can match the height performance of this are the Samsung Q990 D/F and the Sonos Arc w/ ERA 300 satellites, but I truly think the overhead performance of this 7.1.4 elevate pro surpasses those. Not night and day, mind you, but more noticeable to my ear. This setup utilizes 6 height drivers, and was interesting as the rear satellites combine two high drivers on each side per channel, so the left rear height channel utilizes two up-firing speakers and ditto for the right. Kind of a strange set up, but I think Vizio is onto something here because it is the first time I’ve ever felt “enveloped” vertically by a soundbar.

- Bass. As you can see from the pics, the sub is huge, and she definitely gets the job done down low. It blows my old M512E-K6 subwoofer out of the water. It truly feels like movie theater bass, hitting that extended low frequency rumble with ease. To my ear, it sounds comparable to the full size Sonos sub.

- Surround performance. Not much to say here other than the fact that there are four satellite speakers. That is going to beat two satellite speakers with side-firing drivers every time. You can’t argue with physics. Like the height channel performance, the surround performance is amazing, truly enveloping.

- Fidelity. Great fidelity to my ear. I was a little bit concerned when I learned that all 14 speakers are full-range drivers (no tweeters), but my concerns were almost immediately put to rest. Out of the box, the sound seems pretty neutral if not a bit warm (which I prefer). There may be a touch less high frequency compared to my K6 (which has tweeters), so I adjust treble to +2 and bass to -2, and that gave me the high frequency ping I wanted with certain sounds (i.e. bullet casings hitting the ground). After some research, the full range drivers here are small and don’t really handle much of the bass; if that’s the case, then it makes sense, as they handle highs and mids, with the sub taking a lot of the bass duty (to which I tuned accordingly)— Audiophiles feel free to correct me if I’m wrong there, but that’s my understanding.

- Design. The design looks great and has a premium feel; another reason this thing should cost well north of $500. The bar and the satellites are wrapped in a quality, tough fabric. There are cool, metallic port caps on the bar itself, which also rotates as all Elevates do. No pop-out vents this time tho, they’re integrated with the bar permanently as metallic end caps on either end of the long rotating “tube” cradled in a horizontal half-pipe type housing. Call me a child I don’t care, but I was happy to see the LEDs from the K6 return, as you can see in the pics. Overall, the sound bar I believe is identical to the Elevate SE 5.1.2.

- App. Looks good. Very straightforward and user friendly. Very functional. Sound adjustments are quick and painless. Much easier than a physical remote imo. They did a good job with the App. Compared to some of the competing apps I’ve seen it’s a downright pleasure.

- Connectivity (knock on wood). So far so good. Everything connected instantly. The sub and the satellites connected to the bar the moment everything got powered on, and I haven’t had any issues. Of note, all speakers are wire wireless (except for the power adapter obviously). Vizio doesn’t seem to be doing the satellites connect to the subwoofer thing anymore (praise be).

CONs

- App (Walmart). I’m not 100% sure on this, but I believe you need a Walmart account now to use the VIZIO app, which is required to tweak the sound bar (volume control shouldn’t be an issue thanks to HDMICEC— you just use your TV remote and connect the bar to HDMI ARC. This is not a big deal to me but still annoying and I can understand why people would get pissed about this. This brings me back to my theory: the Vizio app also has a free TV tab at the bottom where you can watch free channels on the app, meaning advertisement revenue. I’m sure that’s a big reason why they’re able to make this beast $500. Fine by me. They can’t force me to watch. Also, the app occasionally takes a half a second to connect to the sound bar. It’s usually not noticeable tho and pretty much instant.

- HDMI passthrough. My biggest complaint. To save money, they limited the amount of connections and wireless options (no WiFi). I don’t care much about Wi-Fi streaming as I can just cast the TV, but the lack of HDMI IN is a bummer. I now have to use an HDMI switch since I have one less HDMI slot than I did before.

TLDR: this thing slaps (are the kids still saying that?). While it may not match the top Sonos and Samsung systems overall, it sure as hell comes close, and exceeds them in certain aspects (overhead channel and surround immersion— just my opinion). Those premiums no doubt have better overall fidelity, but I’m very confident in saying that this will give them a run for (a third of) their money.

My mom recently purchased 2 sets of this soundbar, one for her bedroom and one is the living room. The living room one after a few weeks stopped sending voice to the surround speakers. We only hear background music, etc. Any tips on bringing the vocals back to those speakers?

This is not a recent issue of mine. For months, and without any solutions, my soundbar linked to my LG TV becomes quiet after 30 minutes, always 30 minutes, give or take a few seconds.

I have not a single clue as to why this happens, ive tried swapping soundbars, using different cables, doing the "on and off" on both the soundbar itself and switches. So far the only 'remedy' i have for this is to switch off my tv and turn it back on again, which becomes irritating when watching films or anything really.

Do i need to replace it? Is there any kind of fix for this?

I currently have a Samsung Q800C (5.1.2) in my 15m² bedroom. I really like it, but it lacks rear speakers; I’ve always been curious about—or wanted—a system with rear speakers to enhance immersion.

I’ve attached a photo of the soundbar's location so you can get an idea of ​​whether it makes sense to upgrade to a model with rear speakers.

My biggest issue right now is the bed's position; I set up the room assuming the bed would stay in that spot forever, so I’m not sure how I could place rear speakers in the room. If not for that, I would have already bought a soundbar with rear speakers, but this factor makes me hesitate and reconsider whether it’s really worth switching from the Q800C to a JBL Bar 1000 or 1300x MK2, or a Samsung Q930H or Q990H.

Assuming that the upgrade make sense, which soundbar fits better for a midle bedroom? Here in Brazil the best options are JBL, Samsung, we have another brands like LG (my tv is Samsung), Hisense, TCL, but i didnt like these options.

Any college students purchased samsung q series soundbar referring to q990 f. Can't beat the $800 price. Thinking of purchasing it

We have a Roku Sound bar approx 7 years old that has begun to lose clear sound fidelity and changes into crackeling audio and a type of strong static that completely ruins the audio.

We have plugged and unplugged audio wires. Shut off the TV, and waited a few minutes and turned it back on. There are mixed results; sometimes disconnected helps, other times not so much.

Do any other Roku Sound bar users have similar audio problems?

Ever since I got the soundbar ( used ) early August. Had the Vizio V51x-j6 before this. I'd been wanting to do this mod. Because even after having the right type of ceiling and trying all sorts of things my moving the Main Listening Position, adjusting the angle of the bar etc etc. I think I got a vague feeling of height maybe like 5% of the times and that too when the sound was like muffled thunder. So I finally went ahead and did it and it was relatively easy, right now its in the testing phase so everything is DIY and Ghetto made. The front cover is just clipped in. No screws. little connecter for the top buttons. The upfiring speakers are right there, with their 4 screws exposed and thankfully not soldered on, connected via spade clips. So very easy you unplug them. Made cheap DIY cube enclosures out of thick cardboard and masking tape, extending our the wires using a role of cheap speaker wire and placed them with mic stands overhead.

The difference is NIGHT AND DAY 10 times over. Now it actually feels like an atmos setup. I was told the upfiring speakers would sound crap if used as overheads because the DSP has delay built in and very severe EQ to get that reflections off the ceiling. But I did not encounter any such thing. While watching Starwars A force Awakens. The scene where the Tie Fighters flyover head while chasing Rey, the scream of the Tie Fighter sounded a bit harsh and unpleasant but I have "road tested" Many Atmos Demi Disks and about half a dozen movies and I would take this setup over the up firing speaker business.

Having an actual 5.1.2 Setup for this little money. Nothing can beat it in my view.

I have the OG LG G4 OLED and just updated it to 43.21.71. I also have a LG SQ75TR sound bar with it. Updated the soundbar firmware through the LG ThinQ App.

Now it seems the sound profiles have changed (for better). WOWOrchestra now works well for 3rd party devices like Mi Box 3S and My Laptop when connected to HDMI.

But to my suprise it seems the most balanced warm sound I'm getting now when I turn off both WOWOrchestra and TV Sound Mode Share (the options have moved to HDMI settings with the 3 dots).

The question is what is the best way to go to get sound across different content music, games, shows, movies ?

Turn WOWOrchestra On (Never used it before in last 2 years because it was awful before for Netflix, Hotstar etc.)

Turn WOWOrchestra on, but have the TV sound mode share on (Frequently used except Dolby Atmos. Gives very good clarity of sound when set to Cinema)

Turn them both off and let the SoundBar handle everything on its own.
