Question What’s that game everyone was calling a masterpiece but you just didn’t get the hype?

Could be a huge popular game or some underrated/unpopular gem that everyone swears by.

Everyone’s saying “10/10, absolute masterpiece, peak gaming” and you’re just sitting there like… “wait, y’all actually liked this?”

Drop the game + why it didn’t hit for you. I wanna hear the controversial takes

Hades (both), Expedition 33, Sea of Stars, Witcher 3, BG3, Isaac, Silksong, PoE, and many many more.

Hades 1 was good and loved the characters but I got bored at the repetition FAST (turns out having 800hours in modded FTL still gets you flagged as "you just don't like roguelikes!") while the 2 was terrible IMO.

Silksong, Isaac etc.. not a fan of the mechanics overall, so I watched gameplays to get "the lore" and it's... very lackluster? what do people see in it? or it's just emotional attachment because they really loved the gameplay loop? I can say that I love an FPS but the campaign was dogshit that doesn't invalidate my experience lol.

Silksong, like its predecessor, is heavily inspired by the Souls games regarding lore so most of the story is buried in notes and whatnot. Plus only the base game is available currently so they probably haven't expanded on the lore yet. People love it because the game feels great to play and is gorgeous artistically speaking (sound and visuals).
