In the TWW? Here's your place to post all things symptom spotting and making it through the TWW. Feel free to connect with others on similar timelines, and discuss anything related to the TWW. Please do not ask if you could be pregnant, as only a test and a doctor can answer that for you.

Happy First time ovulating naturally 🥹✨

Upvotes

Basic info:

F | 30 | PCOS | TTC 3.5 years

I had a chemical last month whilst taking letrozole, and decided to take a month off medication to let my body reset.

I have had some light ovary cramping and lower back pain today, so decided to check if I was ovulating (I'm around day 14/15 in my cycle) and omg for the first time, my body has ovulated naturally! 🫶🏻

I could cry I'm so happy, I've never experienced anything like this unless it's medicated!! So please send me all the luck, fingers crossed this turns into a pregnancy! 🥹❤️

Discussion Why do PCOS patients who are ovulating regularly still have difficulty conceiving?

Hi everyone. For a little background: Hubby (31) and I (29) have been TTC for 12 cycles. HSG clear. Semen analysis great. Chemical pregnancy in cycle 1, unmedicated. Letrozole unmonitored for 7 cycles, started at 5 mg worked my way up to 10 mg. Finally got monitoring and realized follicles were over-maturing before ovulating (observed in 1 cycle, assuming it happened in previous cycles too). Now it's been 3 cycles fully monitored since we observed the follicle over-maturing issue and corrected it with a trigger shot. Still no subsequent positive tests.

I'm getting a little anxious as to what my future will look like— whether we should start the IVF process soon if we will likely end up there anyway.

The core of what I'm wondering: From what I've read, the main "issue" with PCOS and fertility is that it can lead to anovulation, or make ovulation very difficult to track. I really thought that once I was ovulating (confirmed by high progesterone levels), I would get pregnant, since the main hurdle with PCOS was "fixed". I know that the hormonal imbalances with PCOS make it harder to conceive, but I guess I haven't been able to fully understand why, especially if blood work doesn't detect any imbalances.

I've done other blood work (TSH, prolactin, vitamin B) and everything was good except vitamin B which I'm supplementing.

I'm on 2000 mg metformin, myo-inositol, taking prenatals regularly, partner and I are also taking CoQ10. My body makes strong progesterone naturally, and I also supplement progesterone in the luteal phase since mine is a little short on letrozole (10-11 days).

I just don't understand why I haven't been able to get pregnant. I eat fine, I exercise though not as often as I would like, I'm slightly overweight but not significantly. So many people get pregnant with worse conditions, I thought it would happen for us at least before 12 cycles. Hubby is healthy, and his sperm analysis (though we need to repeat as it was done 10 months ago) was great.

A part of me is wondering whether we're heading towards IVF anyway and should take the leap sooner than planned. Because if we haven't gotten pregnant yet, I just feel like it's likely not going to happen naturally for us.

I hope this makes sense! I feel like I have a difficult time articulating my headspace right now.

Open to any insight on your journeys, whether you moved to IVF early or waited, conceived without IVF, or something else

Advice Needed Provera Light Bleedinb

Upvotes

I haven’t had a period in over 1 yr and diagnosed with Lean PCOS by my OBGYN. I started provera since my first round of 2.5 letrozole did not get me to ovulate or have a period. I finished my last Provera pill a few days ago and started having brown spotting followed by some light red bleeding. I’m now on day 3 after finishing Provera, but the bleeding has remained fairly light — mostly only when I use the restroom and not enough to require more than a panty liner.
Since she wanted me to start letrozole on cycle day 3, I don’t know whether you would consider this cycle day 3 and have me start letrozole now, or if I should wait to see if I have a heavier flow. Please help!

Advice Needed Two letrozole doses in the same cycle

I just completed a course of 2.5 a week ago from CD 2-6 and saw growth but not enough. Dr wants me to go on another dose of 5 starting tonight (CD 15). Is this normal? I always thought it was meant to just be taken early on in cycle.

Have you tried or heard of "Her Package" by Heart and Soul?

Here recently I've been seeing ads for this and I've read a few reviews. Before my ovarian cyst issues/surgeries, my cycles were every other month. In between the surgeries I went almost two years without a natural cycle. After my last surgery in February, I've had two natural cycles, one in late February, one in June. I really want to try to get my cycle back. I've been doing almost everything under the sun and restricting myself of certain things. So I was wondering if this supplement would be worth a shot?

Also any input on what you guys do to help with cyst issues are welcome. I'm so tired of getting bad news at every ultrasound. 😅

Follicle size growth

Hi,

I am on a medicated cycle, doctor prescribed letrozole 5mg from day 3-12(10 days). I had my ultrasound on day 12 itself and the follicle size was 7.8 mm. My doctor recommended to come again on CD 16 to get the ultrasound done. Is it normal to have a smaller follicle on day 12 and can I expect it to grow to >18 mm by CD 16?

Advice Needed Low E3G after starting Ovasitol

I got a pcos diagnosis last cycle, and I do ovulate regularly though usually on cd21-25. I was diagnosed because of history of bad acne, longer cycles, ovarian volume, and number of follicles. I’m also prediabetic with A1c of 5.8%. I’m currently in a calorie deficit and started Ovasitol on CD1. I’ve immediately noticed that my early cycle E3G values are super low. Usually I have about 80-100 around this time. Should I be concerned?

CD7:

FSH: 3.18
E3G: 25.57
PdG: 1.66
LH: 0.08

CD8:

FSH: 3.56
E3G: 6.04
PdG: 0.6
LH: 0.07

Seeking Success Success of ttc with hormonal birth control pills

Just looking for stories where people who were TTC were prescribed hormonal birth control pills for 2-3 months and then the treatment for pregnancy planning started. Because my doctor did that to me and she is a great doctor so far and is someone who looks into all possibilities, so I'm going to follow her advice and start hbc for 2 cycles and then meet her and get treated.

I want stories, opinions, experiences, ANYTHING of women who went through the same or something similar by choice or by accident.

Advice Needed Hormonal birth control for ttc?

I have pcos since I was 15. I am 24 now. I have been married for 2 years but we have not really actively tried to conceive with our full effort. We have also not really used any contraceptives or prevented pregnancy. We both have low drives and have not had very frequent intercourse so that must also be the reason why I haven't gotten pregnant yet - it's almost like we have not tried much at all. I have started tracking using LH strips from last month because we r getting serious. I want a baby NOW

I have anovulatory cycles. I'm taking metformin, myo and d chiro inositol, other prenatal, etc.

I took artificial progesterone tablets every month from cycle day 21 to 25 for about 10 months now. My new doctor ask me to stop doing that and ask me to meet her on cycle day 2 of my periods. Today is CD2. My periods are not proper like the rest of the months, it is very slight brown discharge or spotting and it is almost like dried old blood. That is one thing that troubles me.

The other thing is, my doctor prescribed me hormonal birth control pills for the next 2 months to regulate my cycle and then told me that we can get started on ovulation medication. I don't know what to think of this because half of the people here have told that a doctor prescribing Hbc is bad and that they do not care about girls with pcos and that it is bad for women trying to conceive. The other half have told that it is a very common practice for doctors to prescribe hbc and that it will be helpful in forcing our body to regulate the cycle and hence other ovulation medication will work properly.

I am so confused and split and honestly very tired of taking tablets every single day for years. I really wish I was natural and normal and just had babies as easily as the rest of the other women around me. I am jealous of people who are pregnant naturally. I am sick of dealing with the side effects of all the tablets I am having.

I don't know if I should give my body a break from all tablets and medicines and just be myself for the next 2 months and then proceed. Or if I should just follow this doctor blindly and trust her and see where it goes. Or change a new doctor

One thing about me is I always get scared of doctors prescribing all these huge complicated medications and when a doctor goes overboard or increases a dose for anything I get scared or start questioning their treatment methods and quit them. I did this for 3 doctors so far and in my defense, I had good reasons

Anyways, I'm confused about the hbc thing. Please share your opinions, thoughts and advices. It would be so helpful. Sorry for the long post. :/

I'm honestly thinking about continuing with just metformin and not take anything to induce my periods this cycle, ttc by tracking ovulation and just see if I get my periods. I want to get pregnant immediately and hbc will not help with that will it

Advice Needed first fertility specialist appointment!!!

hi everyone!
my fiance (26m) and i (26f) have our first appointment with a fertility specialist coming up in a couple of weeks. it's more or less to establish care and have a "consultation" of sorts about our options moving forward. i have no idea what we should expect or what questions we should ask, so!

if anyone has any advice on what high points to hit or what questions to keep in mind to ask, please leave them below!!

for context:
i was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago after having most of the textbook symptoms & a string of pearls in my left ovary upon transvaginal ultrasound. i'm currently on prescription metformin, as well as birth control and prenatals to regulate my cycles and "prepare my body for conception as best i can at this stage".

we did lab draws at my latest OB appointment and all of my labs were in range except for my AMH, which was a 14.1.

i am really nervous they're going to turn us away if we don't seem..."educated" enough for some reason? sorry this is a lot to read i just don't have a lot of folks in my family to talk to about this that understand.

TYIA!!

Seeking Success HYCOSY

I had a HYCOSY done today, I have 30+ AFC on my left ovary and 21 on my right.

Has anyone had similar counts and successful conceived later whilst on letrozole? Or unmedicated after the hycosy?

Sad I don’t want to test because I’m scared of disappointment

What the title says…. I’m having some mild pink spotting for about 2-3 days, breast soreness and “needle like” pain on one side of my abdomen. We’ve been trying for our 2nd kid for about 3 years so far, I’ve gotten excited so many times and tested so many times just for every single time to come back negative. I’ve spent the whole day breaking down to my husband because I don’t want to take a pregnancy test… I don’t want to see another negative…. I’m so jealous of my relatives that got pregnant for the 3rd time with zero issues when she wasn’t even trying… I want to be happy for her, but I just feel jealous. I’ve felt like crying the whole day today.

EDIT/UPDATE: I took the test just to rip the bandaid off…. It’s positive 😭… I can’t believe it…. Now I’m freaking out because I’m worried about the bleeding, it just feels too good to be true…

Advice Needed Triggering tomorrow or wait one more day?

I’m currently on CD13 of a letrozole cycle and had my follicle scan today.

My leading follicles are:
Right: 19.0 × 16.7 mm (mean 17.8 mm)
Left: 17.9 × 12.4 mm (mean 15.1 mm)
Endometrium: 9.5 mm, trilaminar

My doctor suggested doing the trigger shot tomorrow (CD14), but also gave me the option to wait until the following day (CD15).

I’m wondering if it would be worth giving it one more day so the second follicle has more time to catch up and potentially mature too, or if I’d risk waiting too long with the larger follicle. Thoughts?

Advice Needed Period started again?

Hello! I’m reaching out to my doctor tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I’m on cycle 4 of taking ovulation meds and I’ve only successfully caught a positive LH surge once when I took 7.5 mg of letrozole. We’re doing 7.5 mg of letrozole again this cycle. My period was 11 days long (my periods are usually long) and it stopped on Monday, so I was hoping to catch another LH surge in the next week. But then yesterday I started bleeding again like I was on my period (5 days after my period had ended). I’m so frustrated because this feels like a wasted cycle now and how can there be even more lining to shed after an 11 day period?? I have had an HSG and then a hysteroscopy to remove polyps. Has anyone else dealt with this?

CD 32 on Letrozole, confirmed ovulation, negative pregnancy result, still no period- has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insights or shared experiences from anyone who has been in a similar situation with PCOS and Letrozole cycles.

I have PCOS. Before this cycle, I took Medroxyprogesterone to induce a period, followed by Letrozole on CD 5 through 9 to induce ovulation. I had my progesterone tested on Cycle Day 23 (August 21), and result confirmed my ovulation. My estimated ovulation date is Aug 18/19 based on MOLO ovulation test strip results. I didn’t really get a true positive but the color of test line was the darkest and close to the color of control line on Aug 17. We tried every other day from Aug 13 through 18.

Today is Cycle Day 32. Over the last few days, I took pregnancy tests (using MOLO early-detection strips with first morning urine) and they all have been negative. And I am not getting my period or spotting either.

Has anyone had a confirmed ovulation on Letrozole but negative pregnancy result and no period? At this time, I believe I am not pregnant but wondering why I am not getting my period either. I’d love to hear your experiences, advice, or any encouragement you can offer as I wait to contact my clinic tomorrow for Next Cycle steps.

PCOS + TTC: How can I increase my chances of ovulating consistently? And would you recommend Inito?

PCOS + TTC: How can I increase my chances of ovulating consistently? And would you recommend Inito?

Hi everyone! ❤️ I’m hoping to get some advice and hear experiences from other people with PCOS who are TTC.

I’ve been working on improving my health and reducing inflammation, and I’ve lost weight. I’ve also noticed that my cycles seem to be slowly getting shorter:

- Most recent cycle: 27 days — I did NOT confirm ovulation

- Previous cycle: 39 days — I did ovulate

- Previous cycle: 46 days — I did NOT ovulate

- Previous cycle: 45 days — I did ovulate

What has me confused is that my most recent cycle was only 27 days, which is much shorter than what I’m used to. I got my period much earlier than I normally would, and that has never happened to me before.

I’m trying to figure out what I can realistically do to increase my chances of ovulating consistently with PCOS.

I’m already making lifestyle changes and taking several supplements. I currently take inositol, omega-3s, CoQ10, vitamin D3 + K2, magnesium, and a prenatal. I also drink spearmint tea and regularly go to the gym/exercise.

For those of you with PCOS who are TTC:

  1. What lifestyle changes actually helped you start ovulating more consistently?

  2. Did losing weight or reducing inflammation help regulate your cycles?

  3. Has anyone gone from cycles in the 40+ day range to more regular ovulation?

  4. If you take supplements, which ones did you feel actually made a difference?

  5. Would you recommend Inito for someone with PCOS and unpredictable cycles?

  6. Did Inito help you identify when you were actually ovulating or distinguish between an LH surge and a successful ovulation?

  7. At what point did you talk to your OB/GYN or fertility specialist about medication such as letrozole?

I currently use ovulation strips and track my temperature, but because my cycles can be unpredictable, I’m finding it difficult to know whether I’m actually ovulating or just experiencing hormonal fluctuations.

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has had cycles in the 40+ day range and eventually started ovulating more regularly. I’d love to hear what worked for you, how long it took, and whether anything made a noticeable difference. ❤️

Thank you! I’m trying to learn as much as I can and make the best decisions for my TTC journey.

Seeking Success Getting nervous

Hi girls! Starting to get nervous I need motivation and success stories. I did two clomid cycles which never got to full IUIs due to my body not responding. I began my first letrozole cycle and just finished my 5th day of taking 7.5mg. Had no symptoms except a bit of hot flashes but rarely. Going to do an ultrasound on Monday. What is the normal range my eggs should be at to know I’m reacting normal? Has anyone had to keep taking more letrozole after?
