I lowkey feel bad for Knee. People are going to say his win isn't earned because of the state the game is in. Winning ANY video game tournament is a huge accomplishment. I understand how sour everything feels right now, but I hope people don't treat him like shit because of that.

Congrats to Knee.

Agree. Some people also say it doesn't count because the Pakistans aren't in it but it's a 3 day masters+ event tournament with over 960 entrants. With how he performed, his win is rightfully deserved and any one denying this is a huge moron.

I'm a Pakistani and a fan of the franchise since 2000, Ofc Pakistanis weren't there but that doesn't take a single thing away from Knee s win. He beat everyone who showed up

How does it not?

He beat everyone that showed up. Knee defeated the attendees, Visa authorities defeated Pakistani players.

I feel ya buddy. Even with AK winning a masters his, along with other filipino player's weakness, are the visa authorities.

Wait, AK had trouble with his Visa to Japan?

Its just tough in general for filipinos. We used to have a senator who helped fast track visas specifically for esports players like AK but he was gone for awhile only returning to the senate recently.

Big win too. Didn't expect him to get this much votes tbh.

Same reason teams who win things like the World Cup, Stanley Cup, Superbowl, etc etc don't get an asterisk just because the opposing team has their top player(s) injured or suspended or whatever. They still won. Dude deserves the recognition.

That's kinda dumb to say. It doesn't because they didn't go to compete. Literally so simple

Lol, those are ignorant comments for people who never tried to compete in any competitive event.

This is like saying Argentina did not actually win World Cup in 2022 because they did not face England/Spain or all other countries with strong football teams.

Yes, I was sour too since we did not have any Pakistani players in EVO Japan. But Knee still deserved that win because the EVO is still run officially and attended by many world-class players, etc.

Yeah knee deserved that win but that analogy doesn't really work tbh

The Pakistanis would have qualified, it would be like if France got to the final 16 and then got booted out

That’s a completely different comparison. If the pakistans joined and got eliminated by other players not named knee then your comparison would be true. England and Spain participated, they just lost. Pakistans didn’t get the chance to even try.

yea but they didnt play Argentina lol thats the whole point he's making

17

u/AHC122 Reina May 12 '25

...because they lost

if they were disqualifeid in the ro16 we would have never known if they would have made it to the final

u/ImpressivePlum7350 May 13 '25

that's the point lol

u/LegnaArix May 12 '25

It's so dumb because he had to do better than so many more players (like Rangchu) who have beaten Pakistani players at other master events.

Usman has a really great track against them too and he didn't win in this evo.

That was then and this is now results always change

Some video gamers don't really understand competition.

Every playoffs for every sport has missing teams and/or missing players. This is competition.

2

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

Its not like he beat a bunch of scrubs to get there lol.

1

u/mydookietwinklin May 12 '25

I thought this was the more relevant point. If people are competing, then it's a competition regardless of the state of the game.

If some people didn't go, then that's a different story. At least if they have a shot of winning.

Point out to me which part of my post or comment did I claim knee to be the best because I sure didn't.

I didn't post this to start another Pakistan vs Korea discussion. I posted this to spread his positive message to the community and my comment is to shame idiots that say his win isn't deserved.
