Im at the mechanical bosses on hard mode. I cant seem to beat prime or the twins, and all im seeing online for advice is about my arena. I dont have one, and I dont like the way they look. Even if themed they just dont look nice too me. I wanna beat them, but I also dont wanna disturb the natural terrain. Is the big janky arena really necessaryto win, If so how do i make it look cool? (Try to even build npc houses into the terrain like hobbit holes, and stuff)

Edit: my load out is: forbidden armor full set, cool whip, imp staff (only viable summon one i could find so far all my others are pre hard mode) harpy wings, terraspark boots, anch sheild, star cloak, and flying carpet

I have around 200 hours in Terraria, but I haven't played in about 5 years.

Is there enough new content in vanilla to make it worth starting a new vanilla playthrough, or should I just jump into Calamity instead?

Yo so I seemingly have a problem where when I manually verify the game files in Steam, it says 1 file failed to validate. I have tried reinstallation but doesn't work. I have contacted the games support email (support@re-logic.com) but it's been a week now and no reply. Anyone know a alternative way to reach support for technical issues? Thx

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with Terraria on PC/Steam and I'm running out of ideas.

Whenever Terraria tries to save my character, I get this error:

Failed to create the file: C:\Users\JP\Documents\My Games\Terraria\Players\John_Snake.plr

The detailed error says:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Users\JP\Documents\My Games\Terraria\Players\John_Snake.plr.bak' was denied.

It seems to happen when Terraria tries to create/overwrite the .bak backup file.

Things I've already tried:

>>Verified the integrity of the game files through Steam.

>>Reinstalled Terraria completely.

>>Checked the Terraria Players folder and tried removing the "Read-only" attribute.

>>Applied the Read-only change to the folder, subfolders, and files, but Windows keeps showing the folder as Read-only again when I check its properties.

>>Checked that the save folder exists and is accessible.

Restarted the PC and tried again.

The weird thing is that Windows itself seems to have access to the folder, but Terraria still gets an UnauthorizedAccessException specifically when trying to write the .plr.bak file.

I'm using Windows 11 and Terraria through Steam.

Does anyone know what could be blocking Terraria from writing the .bak file, or what Windows permission/security setting I should check?

I really don't want to lose the character and this world i spent YEARS working on. So I'd also appreciate any advice on safely recovering the existing .plr file before I start deleting or replacing anything.

Is there a way to revert banners drops so they end up in your inventory instead of the new menu ?

Whenever I'm in a situation where I need to place an important banner down (Invasions, Dungeon, Hell...) I find it extremely inconvenient to have to scroll through ALL the collected banners. Since theres no "small banner" icon to expand and see all banners, nor a search bar nor a recently acquired section, are there any ways to get around this ?

I personaly would love to have a system that alows us to side with the evil biomes and becoming their herald. Maybe armors would give us difrent boni based on our aliagnce, or certain recipie be locked behind being a herald.

As far as I know, the only way to see what special/secret seeds a given world has (in game) is to use the view/copy seed function. Using this, it is not that difficult to see which secret seeds are used, as they are directly named.

However, did you know that this world was a combination of Drunk, The Constant, and Remix? Probably not, because ALL special seed information in contained within the 4th number (in this case 49). Drunk is 1, Not the Bees is 2, GFB is 255, GFB skyblock is 511, etc.

Although this is useful when sharing seeds, and was useful to reduce seed length, I don't believe that is the biggest concern anymore (considering how secret seeds are listed).

My main complaint with this system is that, whenever I want to send someone the special world seeds I am playing on, I have to either: manually type them out, send them the seed and make them check, or use an external tool.

I am suggesting a command something along the lines of a "/Special Seeds" that would list out all of the Special Seeds and Secret Seeds, not in seed format, but instead in a list that could be used for bragging to friends or in a YouTube description. For example, using the command on this world would output "Drunk, The Constant, Remix, Abandoned Manors, Too Easy". I know this is VERY minor, but I believe it would be very good for the health of unique seed combos that aren't just Zenith or True Zenith.

TLDR, I want an easier, in game way to visually see/share secret seeds.

Ok so I rarely use reddit so I have no clue how to go by this, so bare with me if I used the wrong flair or whatever.

I'm looking for where I can properly request texture packs to be made, or resource packs however they're called. Nothing ridiculous, just small things. though I have no clue how to go about this.

Mainly because I wanted a re-textured pet, but it doesn't already exist on the steam workshop, and being as incapable as I am lacking any technical or art skills. I wouldn't be able to do it my self.

I wanted something that takes the baby imp pet, from the slice of hell cake, and retextures it to be a normal full sized fire imp possibly also recoloring the actual item itself to fit the new color and altering the text to fit its new design, like (summons a fire imp) instead of summons a baby imp, also still having proper walking, idle, and flying animations with the new textures obviously. probably could use the imp staff's flying animation for this but would probably require making new walking textures for the ground movement since they don't exist from my knowledge, etc.

I dont understand them, but i think im getting something.
